Where do I begin in my gushing about this laptop? The ASUS G18 ROG Strix looks incredibly nice on my stand with per key RGB keyboard pulsing rainbow colors, with many settings to create different colorations in the Armoury Crate software which is pre-loaded. I have had the machine for 2 months, and have had zero problems. The RAM and SSD upgrades by Computer Upgrade Kings were executed flawlessly. These guys seem very professional and repacked my laptop with a long checklist of things they check before shipping packed along with the rig. Thorough job. This machine is a 24 core i9 13980HX capable of 5.5GHz, the top 13th gen Intel processor for mobile. There is no better mobile chip. It handles anything I throw at it, including running about 20 web browsers, half a dozen word processor files, and the latest games like Starfield, all at the same time without a hiccup or depleting memory entirely. Don't even need to close any of my software running in Windows to run heavy games. As for gaming performance, I could not ask for better. It plays any recent game without any problems. Testing it on Shadow of War on ultra settings, I achieved 120 to 250 FPS depending on location in the open world. In Forza 4, I achieved 190 all the way up to 240 FPS where the game is capped. In Hunter: Call of the Wild, I had 110 to 135 FPS, and even in Starfield 70 to 90 FPS average. You could probably optimize to get more FPS. I try to keep my CPU temps down, so I don't always run games for max FPS. As for thermals, this laptop has great ventilation and heat mitigation. Even running a lot of recent games on ultra settings, this laptop remained in about the 68 to 74 degree Celsius range in testing with MSI Afterburner software which gives CPU and GPU stats. The only game I had some trouble optimizing for thermals was Starfield, initially. Running it in ultra settings at 75 FPS, I was sometimes hitting low 90s Celsius. However, turning down some settings and locking the game at 30 FPS in Nvidia settings yielded nice cool temps at 68 degrees. Starfield runs great on this computer otherwise. No stuttering. No frame drops. No crashes. Great audio quality and graphics. I'm still playing around with optimizing FPS and CPU temps in Starfield, but it does run the game well, as well as any game from previous years on my list, from Skyrim Special Edition, to Fallout 4, to Euro Truck Sim 2, to Call of the Wild, to Shadow of War, to Forza 4 and 5. You generally get very high FPS and low CPU temps on this rig. I could not be more pleased with owning this top of the line pc. The only way to make it better would be to buy an RTX 4090, but it's like 2,000 dollars more. The RTX 4070 will be fine for anyone but the most picky and dedicated gamers who will spare no expense for the best. I might update this review at the 6 month or 12 month mark to remark on its durability. But it's had no problems in its first two months, even with heavy gaming (72 hours in my first 2 weeks of Starfield.) Just to clarify, this pc in my review was the Strix version, NOT the Strix Scar.....I was not sure which it was until I received it. ... show more

Upgraded from a Dell XPS 15 with overheating issues. I wanted a laptop that could effectively handle work, hobbies, and play. I work with large Excel spreadsheets with VBA and complex formulas so I need plenty of horsepower, I like to record videos on my gopro 360 so I needed something that can handle Adobe Premier Pro with ease, and I enjoy blowing off some steam and playing video games so I needed something with a great GPU. I also travel a lot so I need something I can take abroad. This laptop so far checks all those boxes and I am very happy. The package was delivered quickly and on time and was in good shape. I payed way to much money for this PC to be crashing like this doesn't make any sense it was good for the first couple of day then it started messing up and crashing all of a sudden 🙃 😑 😅 I just don't get it like this is a brand new laptop with high specs, makes no sense SMDH.

I'm still in the process of configuring this system to meet my needs. From the onset, it has plenty of processing speed, memory and drive space. The graphics are wonderful, the keyboard spacious and streamlined and all the color lights add a really cool dimension to it. I'm currently cleaning off as much of the Spyware, bloatware and apps I will never use while working on my privacy and security settings to include anti-virus, malware prevention and detection and security and performance software. Once done, I'll run it through the paces but it's obviously better than the former state of the art system it's replacing. In a nutshell, I love what I'm seeing! ... show more
