  • Works great for all my trs connections. So much i own 3 of them.
I cannot express how thrilled I am with the Rode VXLR Plus XLR to 3.5mm Transforming Adapter. This little device has completely transformed my audio setup and made my recording process so much smoother. The build quality of this adapter is top-notch. It feels sturdy and durable, which gives me the confidence that it will last for a long time. When I received it, I noticed the absence of any annoying 60-cycle hum or hiss that I experienced with cheaper adapters. What surprised me the most was how transparent the audio quality remained. My microphone sounded just as pristine as when connected directly to the interface. The VXLR Plus provided the necessary voltage conversion for my unpowered mics and I didn't experience any issues with audio levels or distortion. It's an active adapter with internal circuitry that does its job superbly. Even though the price is slightly higher than some alternatives, I can confidently say that it's worth every penny. The peace of mind and reliable performance it offers are unmatched, making it a worthy investment. Overall, the Rode VXLR Plus XLR to 3.5mm Transforming Adapter has exceeded my expectations in every way. It has solved all my connectivity challenges and allowed me to use my favorite microphones with ease. If you want a reliable and high-quality solution for your audio needs, I highly recommend this fantastic adapter. Bravo, Rode! ... show more

  • Fantastic
This is quite literally one of the FEW products on the market that does this. And for the price is does it well. Most other adapters don't do the proper voltage conversion so you can destroy your equipment, this one does the conversion and the sound quality is superb. Other similar adapters cost the exact same amount, so it doesn't really matter which brand you buy. They all work about the same as long as they do phantom to plugin power conversion. ... show more

  • I was surprised by how well it's built
Now, I'm not a fanboy of Rode microphones. I prefer Shure and Giant Squid microphones. That being said, this "Rode VXLR Plus XLR to 3.5mm Female TRS Transforming Adapter" turned my obsolete Zoom H4N into my useful and favorite recorder/interface for my treasured microphones. My H4N became obsolete when I upgraded to windows 10 backing in 2019. I still used my Giant Squid Lav, but it became a hassle transferring the audio from the SD card every time, and now long extension cables for the headphones to monitor the audio. So I tossed it all in the drawer with the rest of my junk. Then I found out ( 3/12/23 ) how to update the drivers along with this XLR adapter to bring life back to my preferred setup. Plugs into H4N, turn on phantom power of +24V, plug in Giant Squid Lav mic, and adjust audio level. You're now sounding golden! Thank you Rode for your sweet invention. • Rode VideoMicro users, use the mic's TRS cable with extension to eliminate hum
I bought this so I could connect my Rode VideoMicro mic to a Volt 2 audio interface. Plug-in Power works great with 48v phantom power step down to 3-5v. At first, there was a really bad 60-cycle hum noise that made it impossible to use. Both of the high-quality 3.5mm cords I tried were noisy. What happened when I tried the red, curly wire that came with the mic (SC2)? - no hum! I don't know why that wire makes a difference, but it does. In the end, I put it on a good 3.5 mm extension cable, and now it works perfectly. I took away one star on value for money because the price is high. ... show more

  • It just works.
Don't waste your time on slightly-cheaper units that claim to do the same things. This Rode unit just works. Most 1/8" jack, clip-on lavaliere mics require "plug in power" which is typically provided by a wireless receiver pack, or an adapter that contains a 5V battery, or an adapter like this, which downconverts 48v "phantom power" (provided by a mixer, recorder or camera), to 5v. With these adapters, I now have a quick, easy wired backup/alternative for my Sennheiser wireless systems, using the mics that came with those kits. ... show more

  • Perfect, Almost
Works perfectly connecting a Deity V-Mic D3 Pro into my Zoom F4. I also picked up a 10 foot TRRS 3.5mm cable so I can boom it if needed. It looses one star as the one I received had a loose washer thingie on the 3.5mm end of the adapter. Once tightened up with a very small spanner, the threads were now exposed for locking cables, see pics. ... show more

  • Works Great for 'direct-to-camera' mics!
I have a cheap Takstar SCG-598 in addition to my trusty Rode NTG1 with a Zoom H6 Audio Recorder. The Rode connected flawlessly to the H6 of course, because it is an XLR mic. But my Takstar, which is meant to connect directly to a camera audio input, which connect with barely any feedback. I purchased a cheap $10 3.5mm to XLR adapter, but the input volume was the same, very low. Come to find out, the adapter I purchased didn't support Phantom power. So after some research, I stumbled upon this, at $25, it was only $15 more than the cheap adapter I bought, and it specifically supports and converts any Phantom power to a voltage sage for smaller mics. It worked wonderfully -- I can now connect both of my mics to my H6 while keeping the onboard H6 mic available. The build is very sturdy and feels really solid in the hand. I did remove the clip that's on it, since it was getting in the way of connecting with my H6, but otherwise, this adapter works flawlessly as intended. $10 cheap adapter that didn't work versus $25 brand-name adapter that streamlines my process is a no-brainer. Get this product if you're looking for a similar setup! ... show more
