  • Light Weight- Highest quallity in value: making it hands down, Best in Class.
Color: Black Style: NTG4 Plus Configuration: Microphone
Light weight, and strong. It came with everything. The clip holder, for a mic stand. The USB charge cable. The Sticker. Plus opportunity for 10 year warranty, upon proper registration. Zipper case. The one Con: you need to plug in the mini USB into the "blind hole". While I understand the cavity protects the mini USB, plugging it in, is awkward. Because you need to properly align the plug to the receptacle, at the bottom of the XLR plug. But this is the proper location for such a plug, and not a deal breaker,to plug It in and charge it. Then 3 green LEDS blink 1-2-3, while charging. But what a beautiful Microphone. And not overly long, unless you demand something less than 10.94 " Just under 11 inches long. The audio quality is Immortal as well. Your basically getting a $1000 microphone for about $300. Making it hands down, Best in Class. That being said, be advised it took over hour to charge it, on my computer USB port. ... show more

  • Top tier vocals
Color: Black Style: NTG1 Configuration: Microphone
I use these for recording podcasts. I know most people go for a dynamic mic for these situations, but I like shotgun mics much more. These pick up all the qualities of our voices perfectly. They're extremely directional, and background noise isn't much of a concern (I should point out that I use these in an acoustically treated room, so there are no echoes bouncing off the walls). When I compare my audio to professional level podcasts while wearing studio monitoring headphones, there is no discernible difference. I've even let a couple friends that do mixing/mastering for a living, and they don't notice any difference as well. I'm sure if any self-proclaimed "audiophiles" read this, they'll heavily disagree. Their anxiety levels will rise, and they'll feel the desire to comment on this to tell me I'm wrong and that this is just an "average mic you noob". Don't listen to these people. This is a good mic, and with the right settings, recording environment, and compression, your audio will sound superb. As a reminder, I use these for podcasts. I cannot vouch for how they perform with recording musical instruments, except for a jaw harp, which it records beautifully. ... show more

  • Best shotgun microphone you'll ever own...
Color: Silver Style: NTG3 Configuration: Microphone
I got the NTG3 for a Canon XF100 I use for my YouTube channel and it's easily one of the best microphones I've ever used. Period. Audio recording quality is fantastic. There's literally zero static that comes from this thing, which you unfortunately get from cheaper shotgun mics. If you've ever used a decent condenser microphone, you'll know that you get that nice, deep, smooth audio. That's what you get with the NTG3. The sound is so nice you can literally even use this microphone as an interview or podcasting microphone. It's very versatile. Directionality is great as well. When used at a public place it does a great job reducing background audio, which is super useful if you cover events and a handheld microphone is a no go. Construction quality is phenomenal. The entire unit is made of metal and feels like it'd last a lifetime if properly taken care of. It also comes with a felt lined carrier case as well as a metal tube case if you're doing a lot of traveling where the microphone may get damaged. The only drawback IMO is that it lacks a shockmount. For $700 you'd expect RODE to include their SM3 or something, but no. You don't get one. Then again, the type of people who buy this probably already have a couple shockmounts... ... show more

  • Good mic. Recommended.
Color: Black Style: NTG4 Plus Configuration: Microphone
I’m loving the sound of this microphone. Bassier than my Deity shotgun, but not as boomy as other Rode shotguns (like the NTG2), so running it alongside the Deity offers a nice contrast option depending on which mic suits the subject’s voice better. Also more gain than other Rodes so don’t have to push the preamps so much. Solid unit. Good workhorse and gives clean, bright audio when paired with the right recorder or preamp and camera. ... show more

  • Sound is good but dead cat length problems
Color: Black Style: NTG1 Configuration: Microphone
Sound quality is excellent. I put this mike on my back-up Canon X40. The mike is actually too long for this camera if you use it outdoors with s dead cat cover. When not zoomed, hairs from the dead cat are constantly getting into the frame. But for a larger camera body, this mike should work fine.

  • BEWARE, EXRESS MEDIA IS NOT AUTHOZIED TO SELL RODE!!!!!!
Color: Black Style: NTG1 Configuration: Microphone
Here I was buying a mic that has an industry best 10 year warranty, it is priced right and has been well reviewed all over the world only to find out that the person(EXPRESS MEDIA) selling misrepresented themselves(EXPRESS MEDIA) on Amazon. When I tried to register the mic on Rode's website I was told EXPRESS MEDIA WAS NOT authorized to sell Rode and the mic wouldn't be covered under the 10 year warranty. Well, that sealed the deal for me, I don't support grey market goods(FROM EXPRESS MEDIA), goods being sold by gypsy's(EXPRESS MEDIA) who aren't authorized to sell by the manufacture. I have seen issues among my colleagues before and I wasn't about to risk it here. I realize it isn't a lot of money but in this economy, working hard every day and saving money to get by, I am NOT getting stuck if I have issues in the future. I like to be secure and know I am covered, there is value in buying from genuine authorized resellers! Stay away from anyone like this(EXPRESS MEDIA), trust me you don't want to get burned(FROM BUYING FROM EXPRESS MEDIA) ... show more
