Description

The Rockville RPA16 2-Channel Power Amplifier delivers the muscle and precision required for professional sound reinforcement. Engineered for DJs, live events, and fixed installations, it produces 2 x 1000W RMS @ 8Ω, 2 x 1500W RMS @ 4Ω, or 1 x 3000W RMS bridged @ 8Ω, with peak power ratings up to 10000W. Bridge mode combines both channels into a single high-powered mono output, perfect for driving subwoofers. Connectivity options include combo XLR/1/4" inputs, banana binding posts, Speakon outputs, and XLR outputs for linking to additional amplifiers or powered subs. Its built-in crossover (bypass, 80Hz, 160Hz), limiter, and selectable stereo, parallel, or bridged modes offer exceptional setup flexibility. The LCD display provides real-time volume (per channel) and temperature monitoring, while front-panel LED indicators track power, signal, clipping, and protection status. With a frequency response of 10Hz-30kHz, THD+N under 0.04%, input sensitivity of 0.7V, and a signal-to-noise ratio above 100dB, the RPA16 ensures clean, powerful audio output. Housed in a rugged 2U rackmount steel chassis and cooled by high-velocity quiet fans, this amplifier is built to perform reliably in the most demanding environments.

  • Fantastic value for the price for live sound
This amp is quite powerful. Are you getting every watt promised on the tin? Probably not, but I've used the 3000 RMS model to power two 1500 RMS 3-way speakers (with 15 inch woofers) for roughly two years now, with no issues. Will the sound make an audiophile who is listening in a treated room gasp with delight and wonder? Probably not. Is it more than good enough for your average rock audience? Absolutely. I will buy another one of these. ... show more

  • Outstanding Performance for the Price
I bought the Rockville RPA16 for under $400 and it's well worth it.My receiver is the Yamaha RX-V685,this amp works perfectly with it using RCA to XLR cables,no buzzing noise, nothing needed in between, just a simple RCA to XLR connection. The speakers i have are the Rockville Dual 12 (RSG12.2),the sound is clear and insanely loud, the RPA16 puts out plenty of power. The other amp i tried with my Yamaha receiver was the Crown XLS2502,it has good reviews overall and may be right for you but it simply did not work for me,not enough power for my dual 12s.It also put out a buzzing noise when i connected using my RCA to XLR cables, that can be cleared up with a "CleanBox" but the power would still be lacking compared to the Rockville RPA16.I ended up connecting the Crown amp using RCA to RCA but the signal seemed very weak even when changing the sensitivity and upping the volume of my receiver. This Rockville RPA16 is exactly what i wanted and works perfectly with my system.I hope this review saves people some time and money. ... show more

  • Powerful amp
I like the power produced by this amp. Its powering 6 tower speakers with 15 inch 2000 watt 4 ohm speakers and tweeters and mids. I also have 6 full speakers on top of each tower as satellites for a total of 12 full range speakers. Powers all to the point of nearly breaking out the storm windows. Great power and only at half power. Cons are, its extremely heavy which isn't a problem if its in a cabinet or on a separate stand or enclosure. Another con is that it doesn't have any other functions such as Bluetooth. This is not really a problem for me as I was only looking for a powerful amp, but for the price a few extras would have been nice. Not necessary, but nice. The input and outlets are good but rca inputs would be a great addition. The 1/4inch/xlr inputs are very good but make sure you get male xlr cables for the input. Female for the other outfit for powered sub or linking amps. Db level and temperature readout is great and precise. Overall great product but could use a couple of extras. Power is Very satisfying. ... show more

  • Upon raising the hood on this beast. It is a class H amplifier.
The media could not be loaded. Upon raising the hood on this beast. It is a class H amplifier. As good as class D. There are no low pass output filters. That gave me a clue. The transformer has 2 power supply rails. 43 volts and 86 volts. 43 for soft music 86 for loud. Runs cool and effeciently. Id say 10kw is when the smoke is released. Plus the wiring is good for 15 or 20 amps. With the capacitors the voltage goes from 86 to 120 volts so when out put is bridged. You should see a max of 240 volts at speaker terminals ... show more

  • Waste of time. Adds noise to the system.
I have a home audio system. 1 Crown amp, DBX sound processor, Denon and high end Bluetooth, expensive ground isolating power conditioner. Audio is perfect no noise. Then adding this amplifier - there is a buzz added to the system. Remove the amp - buzz gone. Sent back to Rockville, they returned and said it tested fine. They did not call me at all and just returned it to me. Would be an okay amplifier for outdoors where quality is not needed. No reason to keep it if the amp adds noise. Crown has perfect playback no introduced noise. Even cheap Alibaba amps from Riworal Class D do not add noise and are better than this quality wise. It is powerful, but the noise - buzz is a deal breaker for me. ... show more
