You can also bridge the amplifier and get 3 x 440 Watts RMS @ 4 Ohms. The CEA-2006 compliant rating is 70 Watts x 6 @ 4 Ohms and 110 x 6 @ 2 ohms This 6 Channel marine amplifier is amazing. It gives you amazing options for your marine speakers and/or subwoofers. Here are some wiring configurations. You can run 4 channels to (4) full range speakers, and then 2 of the channels to (2) subwoofers. You can also run those last 2 channels to wakeboard speakers if you wanted. You can also run 2 speakers to each channel and connect for a total of 8 speakers to the 4 channels, and then you still have 2 channels left for your subwoofer(s). Another option would be to connect 12 full range speakers. You can bridge any of the 2 channels together which means you can run this is a 6 channel, 3 channel, or 4 channel amplifier. So if you need 1 channel to have double the power, you can just bridge 2 channels into 1 and double the power.

  • Great marine amp for over 4 speaker setup
This amp is amazing. I have it powering 6 speakers (4) skar audio 6.5s, 2 Polk audio outdoor speakers and a Polk 10” subwoofer. Channel 5/6 bridged to power sub woofer. It’s connected to my fusion head. This system bangs. It does get hot. So make sure you install it so there is air flow. She’s a beast. You need ample room for it. It’s close to 2ft by 1ft. Get all your amp wires and have fun! ... show more

  • Great Amp / Better Value
I've done my research on Marine Amps. I actually bought and returned another brand due to the (not so friendly) install requirements (different wiring set-up than my old amp). I just received my Rockville RXM-56 Marine Amp. Based on the the set-up it looks to be a simple install (Same wiring configuration as old amp). If install is as smooth as it looks, then I will give it 5 stars. I cannot comment on the sound yet, but if the sound is better than my old amp, which is should be based on the amp wattage, then I will also rate this as 5 stars. In regards to price, you cannot beat the value for what you get. The 1 yr. warranty is ok, but i did purchase the 3 yr. extended warranty from Asurion. Time will tell, but keeping my fingers crossed. ... show more

  • It ROCKvilles!!!!!!
I installed this on my 24' pontoon using 8 RMST65b 6.5" speakers in series 2 ohm and 2 MS10LB 10" DVC SUBS wired to 2 ohms on the 5th and 6th chan. My subs are a bit underdriven but don't pound out like crazy (it would rattle the boat) The amp is properly named because its phenomenal!!!!!!! Very easy to set up, clear sound no distortion, good look, mounted to a bottom of a seat fit perfectly! I can not turn it all the way up, my neighbors would call the cops! The cost of this system was why I purchased this product. I've installed other brand amps and speakers at 3x the cost and didn't have the rich sound my system has. It is literally PERFECT!!! I'm totally happy I gave rockville a chance. I would totally recomend this!! I do have one issue but think it's the quality of the mic, when keyed up it just squeals.... loudly.... now I really didn't buy it for having the mic so I didn't rate it lower because I didn't really think I would use it. I've contacted the seller to see what might be defective. And haven't received the response yet (just been a few hours). I also had some questions for the seller and was able to make a phone call and had my questions answered. This product overwhelming met my expectaions... Would purchase and recommend over and over again!!!! I am ordering the Rockville gauge style head unit (I'm unsure the model) I purchased a cheap on that ven though sounds good the display didn't light up, we will just say it was a Pyle of dung, so if buying an entire system stick with Rockville!!!!! ... show more

  • Flexible Amp that should work for just about any install! Flexible Amp that should work for just about any install!
This amp is amazing! The ability to be able to mismatch 2ohms or 4ohms on channels gives this so much flexibility for different installs. Along with LPF, HPF, gain adjustments for each channel adds to the flexibility. I'm using this in a boat to power 6 - Rockville 8" and 2 - 4" Polk speakers with the ability to add more if needed. - Channels 1&2 - 4 8" speakers/2 speakers per channel for a 2 ohm load on each channel. - Channels 3&4 - 2 8" speakers/1 speaker per channel for a 4 ohm load on each channel - Channels 5&6 - 2 4" speakers/1 speaker per channel for a 4 ohm load on each channel Having the settings for each pair of channel allows to adjust the power for each combination. For instance, the Polk 4" speakers have the gain way lower to keep them from blowing, where the 4 8"s have the gain set way higher. Seems very durable and well built. Comes with a dyno spec sheet confirming it meets the power spec with is impressive at this cost. Very thick aluminum heat sink/chassis so should have no problem overheating. This does make the amp larger, but I would rather have this than an amp that isn't able to dissipate the heat. The only reason I gave it 4 stars was due to the conformal coating (waterproofing on the board) was missing in a few locations which I covered myself just for added security. Only a few components weren't covered, mostly soldered pins on the thru hole components. Which to be fair, for me using this in only freshwater should be fine but could be an issue if using in salt water. Overall great amp, I wouldn't hesitate to buy it again! ... show more

  • (Not a) Good quality amp for a mild system
Edit November 2023: and died. Powers up, but no output of music. This amp has been a giant waste of my time. I tried to support a “Made in America” business, this this is crap. This is a good amp for medium quality speakers as long as you are listing only on the dock. The first amp I received was as dead on arrival and did not work. After a painfully long process of getting a RMA number and waiting for even longer shipping, I had a replacement. (Customer service rep was always quick to respond and helpful, but the fact that you have to send the original amp back to the manufacturer for testing before a replacement is sent is a waste of my F*ng time. That totally defeated the “Prime Shipping” that I selected when purchasing.) The second amp I received works great with my Infinity Kappa 6.5” component speakers but on the bridged ch 5&6 for my kicker L5, you can only enjoy your music at the dock when the amp is properly tuned to the speakers. Once you start boating, the sound of the boat, the water and the wind noise cancels out the music and you can barely hear your music. If you try to overcome this by increasing the gain on each channel (sub -ch 5&6 we’re already near max gain), you distort the music and get only treble. Another problem is that it goes into protect mode after 15 to 20 minutes of listening to “max volume” (tuned where gains are only close to 1/2 of max setting on components - ch 1-4 and 5/6 of max on sub ch 5&6. 3 star rating instead of a 2 star because of the good customer service response time. I did some research on this brand before purchasing and it really seems like a legit company trying to do right. Sadly on this specific amp, it fell very short of my personal expectation. For reference, this was replacing a Kicker CXA660.5 that seriously outperformed the Rockville. The only reason I did not buy another direct Kicker replacement was because I needed an amp that wasn’t going to get damaged by an environment with water/moisture. The kicker lasted me almost 3 years. I may just buy another kicker and throw this Rockville up on a listing site just to not get annoyed and pissed off every time I want to listen to music… ... show more

  • Great sound and easy to install
Make sure and use the recommended gauge wire. I first tried to use an existing power supply wire that was smaller and the amp stopped working. After reading through the manual I found that I used the wrong gauge power supply wire. I ended up running a new wire the correct gauge and the amp works great. My speakers sound amazing and I couldn’t be happier. ... show more
