Do the zippers really help for on and off? Will get caught in fabric? Zipper opens and closes smoothly. We added a padded flap to the inside of the zipper. Velcro on the outside secures the zipper pull, making it stable. I would like to buy the same sole inserts, is that possible? Thank you for your like! If you need EH work boots, we recommend the ROCKROOSTER Woodland series. They are not waterproof, please try to use them where there is no water to avoid getting your feet wet. Can women? Wear these and what size different from men to women? Size in men's size, for women's size simply add 1.5. IE Men's US 6 would be equivalent of Women's US 7.5. Who are these boots suitable for? Suitable for machinery, concrete, welders, construction, heavy industry, manufacturing and warehouse, transportation.

5-Stars for these boots, even though I returned them within 30min of receipt! I wear size 12 regular in all shoes and boots: Wolverine, Danner, Hi-Tech, New Balance... These boots in Size 12 (US) fit like a 12.5 US. I could easily get fingers down the back of the boot to the base of my heal, when these were fully cinched up. In addition, the heal cup was too wide... Way too much heal movement from side to side for ankle safety. But these are just fitment issues. As far as the boot goes, top notch quality and design all the way! I really loved the side zipper and snap closure for fast on/off, the inner lining was great, the full eyelets to the top insure no breakage, plenty of room in the toes, nice rubber toe cap, great non-marking rubber soles which look like they would provide great traction, and quality HD leather that looks like would survive at least a year of hard use. Though I could have ordered an 11.5 for lenth issues, I still feel their "EEEE" (or whatever) wide bias would still likely cause excessive heal movement, even in my daily-wear thick wool hiking socks, so I'm going to pass on these, but if you have wider feet, then give them a try indoors, keep the tags on, and see if they fit for you! ... show more

Ordered these after trying a few other comparably priced and made boots, none of which felt right on my feet. I have been wearing similar 8" tall Altama boots for 7-8 years that I really liked and have held up well, but the backs of my ankles/calves always have been sore the day after wearing them. I came to realize that as a stumpy short guy, I should try a 6" high boot to change where the top of the boot contacts the back of my leg to try to eliminate the issue. It's a lot harder to find a 6" boot with the side zippers, which I now view as essential for ease of putting on and removing my boots and keeping the lacing at a consistent tightness. Right out of the box, I was impressed with the construction and quality of the boots. They were a little stiff at first and caused some minor soreness at the top back, but as I've worn them around the house and back and forth to work a few times, they have softened up and now that problem has been eliminated. Very comfortable for standing for longer periods and I'm hopeful that they will be as durable as they are well constructed. I have to say that these also are a pretty highly rated in the reviews and that definitely contributed to my choosing them. ... show more

This is my Second pair of Boots from this company. I am ON my feet, concrete ALL day. I am also an avid gardener. Take Your TIME and MEASURE your feet with a seamstress tape. Trace them out, followed with the instructions and you WILL NOT be disappointed! Pros; -Amazing support! Comfortable. -The lining for waterproof is stitched in well. First Day out of the box, I TILLED the garden. (Normal boots that tie, would have been filled with MUD- I usually wear pull ups for this task, but needed to test them out) They wiped up easily (they were CAKED in mud) -They keep great traction on waxed floors while floors are wet. - They are LIGHT - Do not mark the floors (which I maintain) or squeak , distracting people in the building. (Janitor in a school) - I Have not had to change socks mid shift ! The cool max seems to be working! Cons - These DO have a slight break in, compared with the others I’d purchased. At FIRST. I thought, The size may have been wrong, or wrong size sent. *NOTE* photo where my finger is pointing below laces! As I mentioned in my PRO, the REASON it felt SO much different is the way it’s Stitched! It only took ONE full day for myself for the “break in” However, I bend , squat and stoop MULTIPLE times a day. (I have a bunion and SUPER wide feet with a high arch, it felt like a Band of pressure there. RIDE it out) I tied them loosely- and second day I pulled tighter. - snaps, I am not sure if it’s my stride, I have noticed, they catch each other and come undone. While it’s a nice “look” I may be removing those . I am happy I found these, I read multiple reviews and held out on buying. I could not find the ariat motorcycle boots that I’d wore for a decade. Most of all MY BACK feels SO much better! ... show more

    • The most durable, comfortable boots I've ever worn
Size: 8.5 Wide Color: Ak050bk Black, Steel Toe
These fit perfectly! I'm a woman with a wide foot. I bought a wide in men's two sizes smaller than my woman's size. When I first bought these I was not in love with them. I thought they were heavy and stiff. I have worn them 5 days a week, 8 hours a day for over 3 months. My legs have gotten used to the weight. And the padding/insulation and construction is very supportive. I love the zippers and the snap. My feet just slip in, and I'm ready to go. I wear them outside while flagging, in freezing, wet weather, mud and dirt, and walking on concrete. The insoles pull out to be washed if needed. They have no odor. The boots are kinda quilted inside and resist moisture very well. I don't emerse my feet in water, but my feet have never gotten wet in the pouring rain. The boots have softened to fit my feet well. I have another pair of steel toe work boots that are not leather. They're some type of synthetic. I've worn them only a few times to meetings and I noticed foot odor. My feet must breath. That's why I came back to check on my next pair. Ironically, I have worn through several pair of steel-toe boots while serving in the military. I've never had boots with soles that don't wear down, until these. I'm glad I found these. I hope they don't change them. ... show more

Edit: so after getting a new job where im on my feet all day long im not a fan anymore. The one boot is digging into my ankle even with thick crew socks on & my feet hurt so bad after work. So dont buy these unless you dont walk much lol I was super skeptical even after reading basically all the reviews. I decided to get them and i love them. For reference im a truck driver, on my feet about only 30% of the day. They are super comfortable, a little heavy for sure but good quality. For the ankle situation everyone is talking about youre fine as long as you wear crew socks. ... show more

These are some of the most comfortable boots ive ever purchased and theyre so easy to throw on or take off with the side zipper. Ive bought a few pairs of boots from Rockrooster now and I like this company. They seem to stand by their product, their boots are well built and they use quality materials. One thing ive noticed is that I think all of their boots come default in size extra wide but the shape is a little different. Id prefer they made the toe box a little wider and the mid boot where the laces are a little tighter. Thats the only criticism i have and its not a deal breaker. I typically wear a normal width shoe and went down half a size from my sneaker size but you could probably go with your normal sneaker size too. These are really good work boots, hiking boots, or even just casual boots. The other Rockroosters I have are better looking but these are more comfortable with a more athletic sole and the utility of the side zipper. Ive worn them every day since i got them. ... show more
