I have purchased several Rockland duffle bags in the past of various sizes. The quality is good in each and everyone. This bag is quite small though it’s just right for a day trip whether packing cloths or other items. There is ample room in the interior. Two pockets on each end that is quite spacious and two very small pockets on the front. For a small bag it’s well built and not flimsy. The zippers are smooth and sturdy. I purchased the black plaid and it is stylish. I am a repeat customer for Rockland because of quality and longevity of the bags.

Early impression 5 star rating. Price factors in as it greatly influenced my decision to buy it, and factors in to my recommendation of it. Duffels are not expensive, and this is priced right at sub $20. I bought the multi/pink dot for $17. I love it. I love that it came with tags, so it looks retail. The small brand name patch is subtle and looks good. I appreciate that the name sounds like a real name and not just a string of letters like some stuff have. The size is great! Spacious enough to pack plenty for a trip. I am a light packer, so I never need more than a backpack, but this squared off rectangular size with deep open center compartment is great for stuffing items. Then there are two good sized zippered side pockets (one on each end) that are very functional. Can be packed to the brim with assortment of stuff. The two smaller zippered side pockets on front are good for super small stuff, but not a lot of it. So think pack of gum, lip gloss, pack of tissues, smaller do-dads. Has handles, or can make use of optional, adjustable shoulder strap. FOR ME: I use this as my DAILY CARRY bag. Not exactly as a purse that I go into places with, but it is my bag that has things I may want/need through the day, as well as some emergency items. I like feeling prepared- so I have snacks, water, a small toiletry kit, first aid kit, and some other goodies. I usually have these items in a similarly sized large baggallini purse, but it always feels just a little awkward. Stuff gets packed on top of each other and it becomes cumbersome to access, with little extra room. But with this shape and style, I have more room to situate stuff, yet somehow it isnt really any bigger than the purse I was using. Things (I used smaller zippered bags- like toiletry sized) are side by rather than stacked on each other. Really good for the items I dont access much but want to make sure I have on hand. THEN there is still room on top for quick grab items- things I will most likely use that day. Maybe I tossed a book on top, or a long sleeved shirt, or some lunch, etc. Love my other brand of purse, but currently I am extra happy with using this Rockland duffle. The aspect that really made me love this is that I can use one of the side pockets to store my smaller baggallini crossbody purse (fits perfect in side pocket). I use that when I want to be totally hands free in a store. Then I can stick my phone, note pad, coupons or whatever in it. Or I use that smaller purse when I am visiting people. I want to have some stuff on me (tissues, lotion, lip balm, cough drops, pads, phone, etc) but dont want to bring in a big purse and set it down. I can keep it cross body. Yet, I dont always want this. Often I pop into a store with just my phone. So I want options. This duffle helps me have my options and keeps me organized. Basically goes like this: duffle stuffed with my basic needs and other stuff that makes me feel comfortable to leave the house and take off in my car or someone elses' car (ie emergency goodies). Small cross body purse stuffed into side pocket for quick grab as needed. I will then leave duffle in car and grab the smaller purse for errands, shopping, appts, visiting. Yet,if I want to carry this duffle as a purse, it isnt so big that it would look funny. Worth trying anyway. I havent had it long, so I will report back on its durability as I use it more.

I recently brought this on a 4 day trip as a carry on, and I was surprised at how much it could hold and how compact it was! I flew United with one layover both ways (so four planes total) and this bag fit under the seat every time, even on a tiny plane where there were two rows of two seats on each side and half the passengers had to check their bags at the gate. I did not overfill it and it was mostly filled with clothes, so I could squash it if I needed to. I technically could have brought a carry on, but I treated this as my personal item just cause it was so small and every single flight I was on was at capacity with very limited room in the overhead bins. If you're relying on this to be your personal item, I would highly recommend you leave the side pockets on either end either empty or very lightly packed. I found that the height of this bag was perfect to fit under the seat, even when it was full-ish, but it was too wide if I put things in the side pockets. This makes sense since it's a 19 inch long bag and the underseat/personal item measurements for United is 17 inches wide. Of course, if you wanted to use this as your carry on it would fit into the overhead bins very easily. I fit a pair of jeans, a bulky sweater, two light sweaters, three shirts, ankle booties, underwear and socks for four days, a dress, and a partridge in a pear tree in this bag (not really.) One thing to look out for is that the shoulder strap is completely unpadded. Not surprising at this price point, but it really hurt my shoulder to carry it for any period of time. You might want to look into some sort of third party strap pad if you need to lug it around for a while. Another thing is that the bottom is not rigid and doesn't hold its shape, so if you pack lightly like me, it'll kinda cave into a U shape which makes it awkward to carry around. So far good buy and decent quality. Would definitely recommend. This review does not condone partridge smuggling.

Absolutely love these duffel bags. They are fantastic. The only reason I replace my other one, is in one area the stitch is loose where the longer strap attached. But I carried this every day to work and it was packed and very heavy. This bag took a ton of heavy usage. I got my black and white polka dot for about 12 dollars on sale. And just got this one for 17. A bit more, but worth it for a bag this durable. The pink color is pretty and bright. It’s got lots of smaller storage compartments. The bag is definitely worth what you pay for it.

Good bag, nice thick and roomy, it’s not your average size duffel bag but it’s fine with me. It’s sturdy and I like that you can fold it store it away and very easy to use with a lot of space and it also matches my other luggage.

This bag is adorable. I wanted a duffel bag for a soft sided bag to bring my items to work and back. The end pockets fit my tall water bottle and it doesn't tip over or fall out. The other side is large enough to hold my purse. The middle can hold my makeup bag, lunch bag, and what ever else i need to bring that day. Also had a front pockets for keys and what ever. Most duffels look to masculine for me. This has an adorable print, so I hit by it now. :) so cute!
