Wowzers!!! This amp is a class all of its own! I had read many reviews that were 70/30 good to bad with overheating issues etc. I have had fosgate amps before, about 20+ yrs ago good then and just as AWESOME now. I have it powering 2 Rockford Fosgate Punch P1S4-15" woofers and OMG!!! The BASS this thing hits with is phenomenal...........so much better than my old 12" This sounds way better than the class D amps as it's a class ab and has the full frequency range so that i am able to use it on a wider range of speakers, has 2 channels and i didn't even need to bridge it also PLENTY of room left on the gain too!!! Also just FYI it's always better to have the extra juice to avoid trying to push the amp too hard and clip the signal/blow your speaker(s). This amp is one of the best i have ever owned and the boxes are sealed so i use a little more juice than a ported box of the same speaker size and no heat issues yet and worst case just install a fan from a computer..... ... show more

So here's the setup for my Trailblazer ss, pioneer 8" head unit, this fosgate 500×2 for the front doors 3way components. Fosgate 300×2 for rear doors 2way components. A Rockville mono RXD-5 for 3 pioneer 10" subs in a ported enclosure. These Fosgate punch amps have exceptional sound quality and plenty of power, the system sounds really clean. Using this amp to power one JL Audio 10w1v3 @4 ohms bridged, and it hits hard. Installation was easy because of the automatic high/low level inputs, I Bought the Rockford Fosgate RFI2SW low level converter (not included) and tapped in the wires going from my stock deck to my rear stock amp. I also purchased PLC2 separately to adjust the level because THIS AMP DOES NOT COME WITH THE REMOTE PUNCH CONTROL. ... show more

Coming from a department store amplifier, one week with this amp has introduced quality sound and confidence in my audio system. It delivers reliable power, and you know this because Rockford Fosgate is kind enough to include an amp dyno sheet in a box - a pleasant surprise. I believe this is a solid choice for a Mid-level amplifier. The adjustment controls are standard, with HP/LP filters for different applications and Bass Boost. Overall, the amplifier has performed well. Its one pitfall is how hot it gets from fan-less, convection cooling. Ensuring a good mounting location is a must for any amplifier.     • Bad amp from Amazon warehouse caused my speaker to burn

I bought the P300X2 from Amazon Warehouse. Installed my speakers and hooked up the amp, the left channel was smoking up my speaker! No sound came from the speakers at any volume. The gain is on low. The left speaker was just smoking. The right speaker was fine and it did not smoke. Plugged in my friend's amp. Music comes on the right side and nothing on the left. Someone must've blown the amp and sent it back to Amazon. The person who did this is a good for nothing scum. Needless to say, Amazon took very little responsibility for sending me a speaker killer amp. They gave me a $30 gift card and gave me a full refund on the amp only, while my speaker costed $100. At least send me a brand new amp! They refused to send me a replacement amp that was not used (none was in stock). I'm never buying a used amp on Amazon warehouse again. If I do, I'm going to buy $10 speaker to test them first. ... show more

All I can say is once I tried a Rockford 20 years ago I Never wanted any other amp. Like most premium amps it does the wattage it says and then some. Chest pounding bass If you know how to configure it . Only thing is that this amp is not one ohm stable but at 849 watts per channel @ 2ohms I don't think you may mind. ... show more

Upgraded from a JL XD600/6 Class D amp to a pair of Rockford Fosgates P1000X2. I could hear clearer Highs and the low frequencies were less muddied and more accurate. I have a Bit 10 with a Morel Elate 3-way system BI-amped. The P1000's Class AB in my opinion are more accurate than the class D amplifier. I guess I will NEVER buy Class D amps ever again! If you are worried about heat dissipation the P1000's don't give much heat either, very warm to the touch even when blasting the stereo with both amps under the passenger and drivers seat of my Dodge charger. ... show more
