Features

  • The new Rochester B 1 barrel carburetor, designed and supervised by American mechanics, is made of aluminum alloy, with a solid structure and a qualified engine test.Carburetor installation requires experienced mechanics to operate. If you are a beginner, please search for installation and debugging videos on Google. For the first installation, it is recommended to gently tap the fuel inlet of the carburetor to allow the needle valve to move, which can avoid leakage, or disassemble the carburetor and adjust the needle valve. This is because the needle valve may be stuck due to long-term transportation and storage in the warehouse.
  • The carburetor fits an early 50's Chevrolet, GMC 235 ci inline 6 cylinder engine. The throttle hole diameter is 40mm, the distance between bolt holes is 71.5mm, and the diameter for installing the air filter is 58mm.This carburetor can also be installed on the 1932-1952 Chevrolet 216ci 6-cylinder engine
  • For initial installation, please use carburetor cleaning agent to spray clean the fuel inlet of this carburetor to help lubricate it. This is because the carburetor has been stored in the warehouse for a long time and the needle valve is dry.gently tap the fuel inlet position to allow the needle valve to move appropriately, which can prevent leakage during initial installation. Thank you!
  • Compatibility Number:#160, 7004495, 7003986.Suitable Chevrolet GMC engine configuration is: 3.8L 3852CC 235Cu. In. l6 GAS OHV Naturally Aspirated. This part fits most 1950-1959 Chevrolet Cars; exceptions may apply. It can also be installed on Chevrolet 216ci trucks from the 1930s to 1950s, with 2 oval bolt holes.
  • Description of carburetor malfunction:I installed the new carburetor, and lubed fuel inlet as specified. The vehicle runs well except upon acceleration. I suspect the fuel plunger is malfunctioning. I checked for vacuum leaks, and it has no problem,or the intake manifold. Runs perfect at idle.Handling method:Turns out the accelerator plunger wasn't working, it was stuck. It runs much better.

  • Would purchase again
Easy installation, no adjustments needed 👌 Gives a nice extra shine under the hood 1954 - 235 in my 1950 Styleline Deluxe. Very surprised that it worked as well as it did. I'll be sure to keep a spare in my toolbox. After 2 + months it's still working perfect, even with the wrong size intake manifold . I'm sure after I get my new manifold it'll run even better. I'd you have any doubts because it's a china product, don't let that stop you from purchasing. ... show more

  • Was a good fit but the vacuum connection threads were wrong.
Having to modify a product is not really easy.

  • Brought my 53 Chevy 3100 back to life
First off, this is not a Rochester. I was ready to send it back as soon as I noticed it but needed to get the truck on the road for an upcoming car show. My grandson said it was pretty easy to install. As soon as we turned the key it was a game changer. The truck had so much more power and probably hasn't sounded as good in decades. I highly recommend this product. ... show more

  • Rochester B 1 barrel carburetor fits 1950-1959 Chevy & GMC 235 inline 6 cylinder
I bought this carburetor for my 1951 Chevy 3100 truck because the original one leaked by the bowl where the linkage went in and I just couldn't fix it so I got this one. From the moment I took it out of the box I was impressed by how much it looks like the original one. it was very easy to hook up, it mounts better than the original and it comes with a really thick mounting gasket that gives it a great seal to the manifold. I have a problem with the threads where the vacuum line goes into but the seller says that they're willing to try and resolve this problem for me. ... show more

  • Baby I’m amazed!
Just like the Beatles said, I’m amazed at how well this Amazon bought carburetor is working! The original Rochester carb on my 52 Chevy pickup 235ci was tired and due for a rebuild. Very easy installation with a minor glitch with the vacuum advance fitting. Customer service was very quick to help me with it. Again I’m amazed I’m even writing this review…It worked for me! ... show more

  • Perfect so Far...(See the edit below)
My 235 in my 54 Chevy truck had a hard time staying at idle, and when it would idle it be at 1000rpm no lower. Also was leaking from the throttle shaft. Rebuilt it numerous times and had gotten worse over time. Installed the new carb, did a few minor adjustments and now I idle smoothly at 500rpm.. I did also have a problem where the vacuum is but got the fitting to go in, but this was the only issue Edit 10/7/23 Went to start the truck today and the carb started spitting gas all over, ran fine last night. Just ordered a replacement, hopefully it will last longer than this one. I haven't had a chance to drive it yet ... show more
