Description

The deluxe DADR Sit to Stand Desk is a newer, wider version of the classic ADR desk riser that lets you hold two or three monitors and/or a laptop. It gives you the best of both worlds. You can sit part of the day, as you always have, but you can also stand and take advantage of all the health benefits that come with standing and moving around. You, and your associates, will become healthier and more productive. Your DADR uses your current desk…….no need to buy all new furniture. You can sit as you always do and then easily raise the large 37” x 20.5” desk and keyboard tray into 5 additional raised positions (up to 16.3" above your regular desk). This standing desk is perfect as a medical desk, a hospital desk riser, a nurse stand, or an office workstation. The DADR is a sit to stand workstation that offers a retractable keyboard tray that allows you to get into the most comfortable position and it is large enough to hold a laptop computer (with other risers you may have to move the laptop or the entire riser every time you change from sitting to standing). The DADR Ergonomic workstation uses gas springs and can easily raise and lower up to 50 lbs. It arrives completely assembled and ready to go!

  • It's just perfect
Style: Riser Only Color: Black Size: 32"
My son, who owns a software design company, has Varidesks for all his employees and because I have chronic lower-back pain, he suggested I get one for myself. As a home-based writer, I sometimes spend 8-9 hours a day sitting in front of my PC, and being able to alternate between standing and sitting is a big improvement in my quality of life. My back feels MUCH better. But the Varidesk was expensive, so I looked for lower-cost alternatives. I'm glad I did, because the Rocelco ADR Adjustable Sit/Stand desk is absolutely perfect and cost half of what I would have paid for a Varidesk model. One of the problems with Varidesk is that the lower-cost models can only support 35 pounds. I have a Dell XPS 27, which is a screen and computer all in one, and that weighs 35 pounds all by itself. Add keyboard, mouse and a few other desk essentials, and I'm over the limit. To get a Varidesk model that can support as much as 45 pounds, you'll pay $500. This Rocelco ADR Adjustable desk can support 50 pounds, cost only about $250, and is extremely well-made. Yes, the platforms for the PC and keyboard are pressed board, but it's solid, and the rest of the unit-- the base and weight-bearing supports -- are steel. One big plus: no assembly required. Take it out of the box, put it on your existing desk, and you're done. And it comes in very sturdy packing. I thought the only drawback to the Rocelco desk was that the keyboard tray was recessed too far underneath the top platform, making it hard for me to see the top row of function keys -- then I realized that the keyboard tray is retractable. I just slid it out, and now this setup is has no drawbacks at all. It's perfect. I was worried that the Rocelco would be hard to lift and drop down because of my 35-pound PC, but the steel gas springs make it easier than I thought. The only thing that takes a little learning-curve is how it locks in place. This can be set at four different heights, and when I'm standing (I'm 5-foot-10), I use it in the second-highest position. To get there, I lift the Rocelco desk all the way to the top position (where it will stay even without being locked). Then I reach my hands around each side, resting my arms on the top platform, while putting a thumb on each of the sliding lock rings on either side. Applying downward weight with my arms, I ease the desk downward while gently pushing down on the lock-ring knobs. When it reaches one of the pre-set height stops, I feel the lock slide into place. Then I double-check to make sure each side is properly locked (the word "locked" will be in the middle of the lock ring). That sounds more complicated than it is. Once you know how it's done, you can do it in seconds. And you can drop it all the way down in 2 seconds, with the gas springs easing it downwards. A sit/stand desk may sound like a luxury, but if you spend a lot of time in front of a computer, or you have back issues, you'll find this a godsend. In fact, I'd recommend it for any healthy person who doesn't want to ever develop back issues. ... show more

  • Well built and a great value compared to other brands
Style: Riser Only Color: Black Size: 32"
The riser arrived intact in its original box. Once opened, I noticed the packing was very well done and it would survive even the most vigorous UPS or FedEx guy's delivery handling. As mentioned by others, it is fully assembled, and all you need is sufficient desk area to place it on top of and then you can proceed to set up your monitor, mouse and keyboard on top of it. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the riser. I am somewhat used to low-quality workmanship and materials when buying "less expensive" Made in China furniture, but this one seems to be an exception. The wood is well finished with no splintery edges, and the hydraulic mechanism works smoothly (so far). I got the 32" version for $165 and it is definitely a good value. When raised up all the way, it is just the right height for me, I am a 5'8" male. If you are shorter, it does have a few notches available that are lower. If you are much taller (like over 6 feet tall), you may need to raise your monitor if you want to have eye-level with the monitor when standing up. One thing to note is that when sitting down and the riser is at its lowest level, it does add several inches of height (probably around 6 inches) to your monitor, so take that into consideration. I have noticed that when I am sitting down now, I tend to look up a little bit at the monitor, when I used to have straight eye-level to it. Have a look at the pictures I attached to get a sense for this. Overall its a good buy and I would definitely recommend it for people looking to have the flexibility to stand up and work for parts of the day. ... show more

  • Works for me, so far.
Style: Riser Only Color: Black Size: 32"
With nothing else to compare this product to, I am so far satisfied with it (after two hours of use). Once I got the hang of raising and lowering it, I became less fearful of pulling the upper desk off the frame. This upper surface is (I think) held on by 8 screws. The four "center" screws are inset into the frame (and hard to see) but they seem solidly affixed to the upper desk surface. The other four silver "outer" screws seem to be completely useless. They are not long enough to grip the upper desk and two had fallen out during shipping. There seems to be white glue doing the job of some of these screws. I'm a bit worried about this, but not enough to send it back. It has a large footprint which helps to make it incredible sturdy in the full up position. It EASILY supports my two 21" monitors with room and weight to spare, even when leaning on it a bit. I even leave the locks in the unlocked position and it easily supports the weight. Tip: When raising, I gently pull up and forward on the front cross support, as opposed to the rear of the desk like the instructions say. It creaks less that way. My rating is bordering on 5 stars but the issue with the screws and glue lingers. We'll see. BTW, I am 6' tall. The monitors seem a bit high when I'm sitting and a bit low when I'm standing, but within my comfort limits, so there's no need to adjust the monitors when converting the desk. This is informational to prospective buyers only and does not influence my rating of the product, as I suspect all products would have this exact issue. ... show more
