My bike has the old school rim brakes. This rim seems to shake some when braking. Disc Brake Bike would be Great with this system. I use the rear brake more than the front due to this. I installed this on a tandem bike and I ride with my disable son on the bake seat. Works great even with 400 lbs total weight on the wheels. Acceleration is great. I prefer the throttle that is built like a motorcycle. This system requires you to use your thumb.

This would be a 5 star rating except the 1st kit shipped did not work. After much fiddling everyone agreed the controller was bad. That said, LAS Cycle quickly replaced the whole kit a provided a return ship label to 1st kit return. You can't ask for more than that. - I bought this as a throttle option for my peddle assist ebike, for longer pleasure (not exercise) rides. I did not install/use the kits PAS or brake sensors (functions). I hung the battery/controller under my handle bars in nice bag. I pull everything off easily. I bought the simple Dz40 display. I use a 20ah battery. I am 6'2", 205lbs so the total me/bike/batteries is about 270lbs. I get 20 miles, throttle only, on mild inclines routes, and the battery still measures 47.8 vdc (proper deplete value for loner life multi charge). Product works good/great. Remember, you need to also buy battery, tires, tube, brake disk. I spent about $500. I will report after about 300 miles of riding,

Works well and 500 watts can take 450lbs of load 25 miles pretty consistainly on a hilly route, however the PAS sucks, reason being it sucks is because the throttles power is limited by the pas setting Jul 15, 2025 12:45 AM So if you set your PAS to, say, level 2 just to get low-level assist, and you want a temporary boost with the throttle, you can’t — because the throttle is limited to that same level 2 power. So now you have to press buttons to raise the PAS level just to get more throttle, but then when you pedal, you get too much assist when you don’t want it. Exactly the kind of assist you would want — but only when using the throttle. It just sucks. I ripped off the PAS sensor and gave up on cadence. I just set it to PAS 9 and use the throttle as needed. Basically this controller is limited crap, just by the cheapest display to pair with this controller anything else is a waste of money

I installed this kit on my Schwinn Meridian three wheel bicycle. Everything worked perfectly. Top speed on level ground is 20 MPH just using the wheel. That's fast enough as the three wheeler is not very stable at speed.

I have two reviews for this item because I brought two kits for two bicycles. Both the reviews get 4 stars. These are excellent kits but for ease of installation im docking the review one star because the vendor could offer parts that are much easier to install than two of the components in the it. For ease of installation, select the brake sensors. The brake sensors come with double sided tape from 3M. Throw the tape out and affix the magnets and sensors with some clear epoxy. They work great but dont waste time with the 3M tape. The kit comes with a PAS (pedal assist sensor). The sensor requires a special tool called a crank puller. Even after I brought a crank puller, I was unable to remove the crank. Throw away the PAS sensor that comes with the kit and purchase a PAS sensor that can be installed without pulling the crank. Its available on Amazon it has two hemispheric rings that are held in place with a metal clip. It will take minutes to install with no special tools or aggravation. Be sure to buy the one with the same connector on the other end. Likewise there is a Throttle that comes with the kit. The throttle will require you to pull off the brake and gear changer on one side. If you like having extra work to do and if you like dissasembling a tuned up brake lever and gear shifter than go ahead and install the throttle that comes with the kit. What I did was throw the throttle that came with the kit out, and purchased a throttle on Amazon that has a clamshell connector that I was able to put on in seconds. The vendor could easily offer these easily installed parts instead of the hard to install parts. Once you get past these issues, its a great kit and youll be happy with it.
