  • Comfortable & Intuitive
Style: Syn Pro Air Pattern: Headset
Bought the Roccat Syn headset about a month ago. Been using them every day to this point. No major issues to report, other than the RGB being a little funky. Pro's -Comfort! As a glasses wearer the cups on the headset are very comfortable and don't pinch my glasses. Also, the flip down mic is well placed and stays out of my way when I don't need it. -Customization. Lots of options and tweaking to be done in the Neon software if you are into that stuff. Out of the box the sound is good though. I've just been using the 3D sound feature for action games (Destiny 2, Apex), and it sounds great. Besides that, the neutral sound on video/audio has been on point as well. -Battery Life. I've had the lighting off for the most part and have had no issues with the battery so far. Used it for up to 12 hours at a time with no issue. -Wireless Range. I own a few other headsets and I can say the Roccat Syn provides the best range out of all of them. It's nice being able to be able to walk around the pad while keeping tabs on a podcast, song, discord chatter, etc... Cons -Software. While the Neon software is fine and all, it's annoying that I have to use that as well as Roccat Swarm for my other Roccat devices. Wish everything worked with one piece of software. That said, the AIMO lightning does still work across all devices. -Features. Some of the audio features aren't explained well in the software. Wish I was able to find about more about what features did what. -Lighting. Wish there were more RGB features in the software. All in all, love the headset. Good value if you can nab this when it's on sale. ... show more

  • Constantly Reupdating Firmware (Mic Works Sound Stops Working)
Style: Syn Max Air Pattern: Headset
Summary: In summary the headset's firmware has issues where it will stop the audio and it is an INSANELY COMMON issue where I have seen others who have posted years before I did about the same thing and it's because of the firmware of the headset. The hardware is amazing and the sound quality is great once you mess around with the equalizer however the firmware for the headset is horrible and I would not recommend this headset to anyone else until Roccat fixes this issue. But the truth of the matter is that this issue has been happening for years when I searched up the problem and it seems to be insanely common with this headset so it seems like Roccat does not care about their customers or are just insanely bad at getting the most basic thing of a headset to work. Go shop for another wireless headset. Detailed: I bought this headset a month ago and just in the past two weeks it started to have issues where the sound of the headphones would just stop working. I've tried every which way possible to fix this but the only solution was to use their Roccat Swarm software and Recover my headsets firmware. It would be fine if it rarely happened but it started to happen once to twice a day. This is a very solid headset but having to constantly stop what I'm doing to fix my sound by plugging in the headset by cord into my computer and waiting for it to recover for about 5-10mins almost everyday is exhausting and annoying. No headset should do this and I realized that I need to return this headset once I plugged in my old broken headset and enjoyed playing with it more as I didn't have to keep bothering with it every few hours. ... show more

Style: Syn Pro Air Pattern: Headset
I use them for work, the cushion is nice for long wear. Battery life is good Ive gone two days without charging and the 3rd day as it beeped indicating low battery. charged while I was on the phones did not have issues with connection. It does block out most but I do have kiddos so I still can hear them faintly. It’s very crisp sound haven’t had any issues with anyone hearing me. First pair i did receive I would have not recommended, replacement pair I do love. Very comfortable for 8hr shifts. ... show more

  • Good Sound, Docking, Comfort. Mediocre mic and software
Style: Syn Max Air Pattern: Headset
Sound - 3.5/5 These have good sound. I tested out 3 gaming headsets - the Epos H3Hybrid, the Razer Blackshark V2 Pro (2020) and these. These are right in the middle, significantly better than the Razers - but worse than the Epos. They'll be more than good enough for 99% of users, but not top top tier. Software - 1/5 I struggled with this. Had to download Turtle Beach drivers (parent company) despite this being a Roccat device to get it to work, and had to fiddle with a bunch of stuff. Once it finally got sorted, the software is....OK. I'm a computer savvy person, and still couldn't figure out how to turn of sidetone and stop hearing myself in the mic, which shouldn't be a difficult thing to do. Mic - 2/5 Not a great mic. It's clear, but the lowest quality of the 3 mics I tested. Comfort - 5/5 Probably the most comfortable of the 3 gaming headsets I tried out. Very comfortable, and bigger earpads than most. It's a little heavy when compared to something like the Razers, but they have a more comfortable earpad and less clamping force so I'll take that. Sound Isolation - 2/5 They were the worst of the 3 when it comes to sound isolation. They're still closed back headphones so block out most fan noise, etc. It's always a balance between comfort and sound isolation, and these are on the comfort side of the scale. If in a quiet room, you'll be fine. If in a loud room when gaming, maybe try a different headset. Docking - 5/5 This is one of the best parts of this headphone, and more companies should try this. The dock doubles as a wireless dongle, so it's extremely easy to use. Just put your headphones on the dock when you're done playing, and you never have to worry about charging. Other companies sell separate charging docks, but this is a much better solution with the including 2 in 1 dock and dongle. I'm sure there are unique use cases where someone might prefer a traditional dongle - but I think this is a great innovation and hope other companies copy this idea. Overall 4/5 - Unique headset with good sound, a great docking/connectivity situation and comfort. Held back by terrible software, a mediocre mic and just OK noise isolation. At it's original MSRP of $250 this is a pass, but if you can get it significantly discounted at $100ish, it's probably a good bang for your buck. ... show more
