  • Not my cup of tea, but....
This was a Prime Day sales item. I probably wouldn't have purchased it otherwise. I will say off the top that this is really cool. It's not my cup of tea, but it did open up a whole new world of model building. I've assembled a lot of Rokr kits, and this is, by far, the highest quality one I've assembled. This is my first kit in the realm of dollhouse or diorama, but I've been specifically looking at the book nook kits as kind of a neat way to fill out my bookshelves. I'll be giving them a closer look after this. The reason why I didn't like the kit is because it requires some skills that I do not find particularly enjoyable, which means that I'm not particularly good at them. Pretty much anything that involves a scissors is something I'm not going to be very good at. Needless to say, I didn't assemble all of the butterflies. I did two, and I was able to hide my horrible cutting well enough. The light doesn't work, but that's not something I was planning on using anyway. It works when I hook it to a different power source. It just doesn't work with the power source provided. Also, extremely tiny wiring isn't very fun, either. My wire stripper doesn't actually have a gauge as tiny as what comes in this kit. The instructions (which are pretty mediocre) say to cut off a certain amount, but I used the whole dang wire because I had no way of knowing how many attempts it would take to strip the ends correctly. I don't think this is a beginner's project unless you are very inclined in a lot of different craft skills. The kit comes with glue that actually works pretty well other than the fact that it's very stringy. It dries quickly when exposed to air, and those tiny little strings literally became tiny little strings. I started to use a wire cutter to snip them about halfway through assembly. I would actually consider buying the glue if they sold it by itself. As it sits, I had plenty left over. I think it's about the perfect adhesive for paper, and there is a lot of paper in the kit. As other reviewers have mentioned, the pieces are extremely difficult to identify even with the cross reference sheet. I was missing the green wire when it was all said and done, and the plants I made with the brown wire looked kind of pathetic. So I left them out. My finished product contained everything except for those plants and some butterflies. And a working light. But if you like assembling model kits, and you have a pretty wide range of craft skills, I recommend buying this to fill some time enjoyably. It took me about a week to assemble it, but most of that time was waiting for glue to dry. This definitely gets a 5/5 even though I didn't particularly enjoy it. ... show more

  • You need extra tools, not for beginners
liked it's an extreme miniature. You HAVE TO have extra tools. The stickers are really bad and don't stick,so i painted instead. Use wood glue to attach bigger pieces. It had MISSING PIECES,so i had to make them. But over all it's a cool project if your into minis.

  • Fun themed kit thats just challenging enough to be fun, but not too complicated
While this is my first miniature project, i had a small learning curve. But once I got the hang of it, I fell in love! Sure there were some mistakes made but I call that character. Whatever kind of glue they send is amazing! It dries relatively quickly, slow enough to make minor adjustments within a min, yet quick enough to not have to wait hours before the next step. Ive also found for tougher items to hold, putting a dot of glue on cardboard and let it get slightly tacky will allow you to use a toothpick to apply to small items. ... show more

  • Little to no instructions
It's so hard to figure out what's what and what goes with what. They have the bags labeled but not the parts and some look the same. Mine was also missing pieces. I lost interest and never finished. I would look elsewhere,

  • Looking forward to doing this
This is an item that I have been really looking forward to. I enjoy these little peaks into little worlds and the amount of attention and detail that goes into them. This is a project that takes time, and sadly I have not had a chance to assemble this one yet. I will update soon. It comes nicely packaged. ... show more

  • Cute Project
This is really cute, but you do need a significant amount of time to finish. I didn't realize every single items needs assembling, so I was a little out of my element at first. Once it started to come together it became pretty fun. I think this would make a very nice hobby for nights and weekends.

  • Adorable but time consuming
This is an adorable Alice In Wonderland set, keep in mind it’s very time consuming. But worth it in the end, such great attention to detail, perfect for display!
