I gave this to my friend because her little brother loves building things and loves robots and I figured he'd enjoy this. Apparently it's a huge hit because he's actually built all 5 versions and he loves it! It's just the right level of complexity for a 10 year old, and it's a great project to do as a group or on your own. I love that there are 5 unique designs that you can make because then there's something for everyone, and the instructions are crystal clear so you won't get confused. Definitely a perfect gift for anyone who loves to build or loves robots!

This was a lot of fun to put together. You definitely need to pay attention to the details in the instructions. Sometimes it was difficult to follow as it was difficult to understand which pictures were with which step number. Then when I got it fully assembled (as Johnny 5) I ran into issues with it driving. However, I put a little more time into it and found that I had put one set of gears in the wrong place which caused the issue. I was able to partially disassemble (NO DISASSEMBLE!), and put the gears in the proper place and now it works like a dream! It is a bit wobbly, but the wheelie bars help prevent tip overs. It really doesn't work on hardwood floors, so low pile carpeting/rug is best. Not sure if it will work on concrete or asphalt, but I'm guessing a the least it would probably tear up the hard plastic treads. A good upgrade to make it work better on hard floors would be grippy pads for the treads.

This robot model is a full foot tall when done and is about 800 pieces. It does look really good once completed. The pieces are the usual shapes you'd find in other name brand models. Its a nice model and looks good along size other models in your display. We didn't have issues with the pieces fitting together and they adhered properly. This model is definitely not for small children unless they are pros at this kind of thing. Its somewhat of a challenge given the number of pieces. The instructions aren't quite what you'd expect from a name brand, but they were good enough. Definitely don't just start tearing the bags open before understanding the instructions. The fact that it lights up and you can drive it definitely makes it a great deal.

I’m impressed. This thing is big, and works awesome once assembled. The instructions were super easy to follow, without making it a mind numbingly easy setup. I was surprised at the price, definitely worth it. If you have kids, this would be a great built and victory run together.
