Nice rubber wrap for easy grips and low noise. I use these with my barbell and also as dumbbell/kettlebell replacements. The weights aren't calibrated and the actual weights seem to be around +/-2% of the states size. One of the 45lb plates were 45.2lbs while the other was 46.0lbs. Not a big deal for recreational use. The weights have sort of grease residue and do have a strong rubber smell that doesn't go away unless you give them a good clean. I scrubbed the weights with dishwashing liquid and hot water in my bathtub and wiped them down to significantly reduce the smell but it's sill noticeable. If you have a sensitive nose or plan to workout in your living area, I don't recommend getting these for the smell alone. Otherwise, great product, albeit a bit expensive.

Great plates! Quality is better than I was expecting. Look nicer than what I thought they would. Easy to carry and rack. Yes there was a little rubber smell I washed them with equal parts water, alcohol and white vinegar ( my own concoction I use for glass ) and that took care of what smell there was. I believe the vinegar is what really did the trick. Very happy. I ordered a couple more pairs. Highly recommended!
