Tested these at my local mud pit (7/16 Inch) someone abandoned an old suburban, so these came in handy! Wrapped these around a rear bumper support and let my 15klb winch have at it. I was able to pull the suburban out pretty easily as it was left in neutral and my winch did not hit capacity. The shackles held up nicely, although this is probably the maximum I'd be comfortable using them at. (Light - medium recoveries) There was an indentation in the rope from the angle of metal they were attached to on the suburban, however the rope did not fray, and looks normal now after massaging it around. I'd probably use these for 2 - 3 recoveries and then discard them. Still WAY cheaper than calling for a company to come and tow you out, so consider having one on hand if you like to spin in the mud so you don't have to abandon your car 😂 Personally I would not use a kinetic rope with these, the rope feels tough but also waxy like, similar ones I've used in the past feel different, I'd be worried the knot would slip out of the loop under a kinetic tug. Although the quality does give enough confidence for a slow winch up recovery! Overall, you get two of these with your order and nice weather resistant carrying bag. You'd spend much more at a local 4x4 store. However, with that being said it is a Chinese-style off-brand shackle. So be cautious and stand back when using it! I would, and plan to use these again in the future most definitely! But like I said, I will discard them after 2 - 3 recoveries each solely for peace of mind. These do measure about 22 inches as advertised, so it should be enough to find a good tow point on vehicles that do not come with dedicated tow points. 5 stars for the capability of a recovery and it's durability, it did exactly what I needed and intended and did not fail. *** See the bottom of this review for my star rating scale explanation *** The GOOD: - Safer to use - Very light weight compared to traditional shackles/d-drings - Protective sleeve will prolong life of shackles - Included storage bag is a nice bonus - Good value The BAD: - Nothing yet The Verdict: RECOMMEND Changes to get 5-stars: - Nothing at this time Details: I've only ever used traditional clevis/d-ring/shackles which are heavy, slower to attach, limiting due to their size/shape, and lose paint easily if they are painted. These are a very nice alternative for many reasons. They are incredibly light compared to steel shackles, store much more easily, and are safer to use. I also like the fact that since they are flexible you can more easily attach them to odd shaped areas where steel units won't go. The protective sleeve is a nice bonus in this set, although it isn't anything crazy for thickness in the material department. Once I get through some more testing with these I'll update my review if anything negative comes about. So far, I'm a big fan. ************************************************ My Rating Scale: 5 STARS - Item worked better than advertised and exceeded my expectations. The item provided more value than I anticipated and is a great deal. The item seems very well made and should last for a long time. When I first came across this shackle, I had many past rescues flash through my head. I have tied nots around axles that did not want to untie, placed hooks in small holes that wedged themselves in and required hammering to get loose, tried to use metal shackles that find not open wide enough to fit the connector. These are pretty long and easy to get the hang of after a couple times using them. The synthetic rope used to make these has close to 30K lb. breaking strength single strand. This is made by doubling the line back on itself making it double. You will likely break the tow strap before you break one of these. ... show more

These shackles are lightweight and come with a mesh bag to hold them. They attach your tow straps to the vehicle without needing any tools. If I ever see a Subaru hanging halfway off a cliff and need to quickly pull them to safety, these aren't going to slow me down.
