  • This won't be easy
Size: 6' x 8' Color: White
The quality of the parts is just poor enough that not all the pieces fit correctly. You may need to pull out a saw, mallet, or other tools to modify or install parts. If you aren't super handy, hire a pro. If the quality were high enough to allow all the parts to be easily installed as designed, this project would have taken half the time it did (approximately 20 to 25 man hours so, and we haven't finished the door or seals yet). I'll preface this by saying we spent a few hours prepping the installation location to ensure the base was absolutely level and square, and perfectly square with the wall. Based on previous experience, not having everything squared up beforehand is a recipe for disaster because parts will not line up, get twisted, etc., and these issues increase the closer to completion you get. We installed this on the east side of the house to cover the patio and arcadia door. The predominant winds here are southwest, so it won't be exposed directly to the worst winds. It serves to insulate the arcadia door (which has a dog door in it), as well as a greenhouse, sun room, and mud room. Issues we encountered: * One of window frames was a bit too small, and we had to shave (with a circular saw) 1/16" off the acrylic pane to get it installed. * Most of the rail mounts (7608/7609) did not slide in easily. We lubricated the rail and slot with furniture polish, and used brute force and a mallet to get those pieces installed. * One of the rails (7613) did not slide on well at all. That required quite a bit of time tapping it with the mallet to get it in place, and we had to be very careful not to tap it in too far because we'd never pull it back out. * Instructions and cited required parts for installing the bottom window rails (7225/7225F) were incorrect. 7225F is just a bit longer, and is used on both the far right and far left windows, where the shorter 7225 is for the center windows. Instructions called for 6 of 7225 and 2 7225F. The packages actually had 4 of each, which was correct after we studied the situation for a few minutes. * The vent window is simply poor quality, and very rickety. * Stickers don't come off easily, so I'll have to spend a lot of time with rubbing alcohol trying to get them cleaned up. On the positive side: * The assembled sun room feels very sturdy. We get snow and pretty strong winds. I have no doubt it will stand up to the winds it will experience on the more protected side of the house. * I love the clear panes. While they won't insulate as well, it's nice to be able to see out the arcadia door into the back yard. * I appreciated having the choice to install the door on either end. * There were no missing parts. * In general, the assembly is much easier than our previous greenhouse, which had a million nuts and bolts, and required a lot of adjusting to get it properly squared up. ... show more

  • There will be blood
Size: 8' x 8' Color: White
First prepare yourself. This is a couple of days work. There are so many things that the manufacture could do to be simpler. Every shipment will have the first 4 feet of the room and the back four feet of the room. There are middle boxes for every 2 foot section you add. Each of the first two boxes is about 140lbs. Guess what, you need to open the bottom box first. Has the instructions. Not all parts are marked well, especially the clear roof/ plex parts. The stupidest tool ever made is included for these little plastic f@%$&rs you have to set, like 200 of them. Many suggestions. Run a thin layer of caulk under the base pieces. On the base units trim with a dremel the little nub on each end at the top of the tube. Theyll join easier. Dont put the little plastic f&&&^rs anywhere a plexiglass will slide into. I used 4 tubes of chauking to seal back and roof lines. Otherwise it will leak when it rains. 2 bolt/nuts were missing so i couldnt secure hatch until they showed. ... show more

  • Great shipping, scheduled delivery that keeps schedule
Great shipping, scheduled delivery that keeps schedule. Product unloaded for residential customers. Customer Service works with customer to replace a missing part and was received in a couple days. Can be built by one person in about 2 - 8 hour periods, maybe quicker if temperature in mid 70's with low humidity. I was working in 93 degree @ 87% humidity, but not installing in direct sun. Went together well, had one roof panel that was a snug fit. Will do a full review in 6 months to know how it stands the summer and into the winter. 8.2.2015 2 years later drop from 5 star to 1 star, maybe should be lower! One should not consider purchasing this if you get ANY snow in your area. The plastic frame and roof pannels will not handle a snow load! After two years of hot and cold weather, the roof panels started leaking durning moderate to heavy rains, most of the leaks in the panel that contains the roof vent unit. I tried to get a replacement panel and take the vent out all together; could never get response from customer service, and the panels are thin and no replacements could be found for one panel....of course I could purchase 10 panels, cit one down to fit throw the others away, that would be anothers $200 wasted. The weather also did take its toll on the plastic roof frame members, they started to sag, this the front angled pains started to slip down about an inch, the metal catches would not stay in the frame groove. This room may work somewhere but not in Maryland! Good idea, good directions to build, poor selection of framing materials, wish I had spent the money on a shed! ... show more

  • Be patient and embrace the process...
Size: 6' x 8' Color: White
I spent a lot of time reading reviews before purchasing this. For that reason I had a special concrete pad poured for this project. One thing that was difficult to discern in the product write-ups was the overall dimensions. This was important for ensuring the product fit our pad and under the wall to which it is now attached. For your information, the dimensions are interior dimensions. The materials are 3.5” add that appropriately. The elevation dimension is 97.5”, just over 8’—leaving me about 3/4” in my workspace for this to fit. Eeek. Putting it together was not difficult, but some steps require patience in order to get all of the joints to fit together at once. Plan two good work days for this. We put it together in late fall (2019) in WIsconsin and weather and cold made it take longer than that. But, again, I say be patient. Take it step by step and you will be very pleased with the result. I did not rate durability, as I haven’t had it long enough to make that determination, but all appears solid. ... show more
