This exterior tankless water heater has worked perfectly over the summer and winter months, even when the outside temperature dipped to 10F. I have it set at 130F temperature. Built-in recirculating feature also keeps the water lines warm in such frigid weather, kicking in every hour or so. In the far corner of the house, it takes about 30 seconds for hot water to reach.

This water heater has exceeded all my expectations. We have 4 bathrooms, and I was concerned about this water heater's ability to replace our two 50 gallon units we had in our house. Our handy man save us by coming to the rescue when one of our tanks failed and started leaking. He actually was the one that convinced me to go tankless, and help me pick this unit. I should have stopped their with him. After he installed the unit (it was not installed correctly), and did not function as documented. I went out to the Rinnai website, found one of their locally approved installers, and they came out and did a fantastic job installing and programming my new Rinnai tankless water heater. It took about a week to have this system learn our household hot water demands, but once it figured it out, we have hot water on demand throughout our house. One word of caution, if you have small children, the water comes on hot almost instantly. The warm-up warning period is non-existent with tankless heaters, so you will need to be careful if you have very small children. Other than that word of caution, I highly recommend this unit.

Very well built. Enjoy unlimited hot water. Makes a kind of humming noise while inuse. But this way you will know it's running properly. My kids love bubble baths and we use a lot of water for normal household use. Now we don't have to worry about waiting for the boiler to heat up water. If you plan on having a tank less and a tank water heater running at the same time. You will also need a recirculating pump . Two- Stop valve or also known as check valve. And would be awesome to have comfort valves installed under sinks. This will get hot water coming out of your faucets in A split second. The stop valve or check valve is for preventing the water backing up into the tank or tank less water heater. Hope this information will help if your having this setup.

Bought this last year and had to sit on it awhile as no one would install it (I live in a very rural area). Finally found someone to install it, got it all set up, and plug it in to set up the parameters and no power. Outlet has power, cord gets power. No display. Will update once I contact Rinnai to see what they will do about it. 8/26: Rinnai is sending out a new LED controller, free of charge. 9/22: Still no part... emailed support 9/23: Support said they sent it out, replied asking for a tracking number, they said they don't have that and I will need to call support. Called support. They said it never actually got shipped out >.< They immediately 2-day Fedex'd out the part 9/25: Part has arrived, yay! 9/27: Installer replaced the LED controller. Still not working. Next time (per the manual) is to replace the PC Board. Called support, they are overnighting a PC Board and allowing for submission of an invoice for that replacement to handle the labor. Note that during this time, phone support has been great. Virtually no wait time, and very pleasant to deal with. That is a HUGE plus in my book. Unfortunately, the product is still not working at all, but hopefully we'll get there (thankfully I still have my old tank water heater so I'm personally not impacted at this time). 10/2: PC Board received (probably delayed by Hurricane Helene, nbd!), installed and it fired right up! 10/29: So far so good! We get hot water quickly and plenty of it, so updating to 4 stars

The title and description clearly saying NATURAL GAS ! I purchased it few months ago on april 2024 for my new construction house. To keep cost lower before it keep rising until i install. I installed it on august 1st 2024. Right out of the box there wasnt any hot water coming out. Few days go by and rinnai costumer service returns my installer call and after 2 hours of diagnostics. It turns out to be a LIQUID PROPANE water heater and NOT natural gas. Installer bill + conversion kit cost came up to about 450$. The company dont pay the technician to stay there for hours trying to solve brand new water heater problem. He charge the owner. I would highly expect from the seller to repair this issue as soon as possible and also to refund me some money.

This works perfect. Make sure you get multiple instalation quotes. I had quotes as low as $2,700 up to $4,700. I wouldn't install it yourself unless you have experience working with gas. It takes a minute to get the cold water out of the pipes, but once it's out, the water stays hot as long as you want.

To tank or not to tank, that was my dilemma and I decided tankless. The key for me was price shopping certified Rinnai installers and I couldn’t be more satisfied. Installation was a half of day in an obstacle free environment. My Rinnai unit was the RCSiN 199,000 btu unit with recirculating capabilities and is a true game changer in my four bedroom home. Hot water on demand with very little waste water has proven to save me time, money and I can now use my jetted tub without waiting. My installer recommended that I contact the gas company for a “increased volume” gas regulator found on the outside of my house free of charge. The gas company came out within two weeks and it’s now a done deal. The Rinnai unit is very good looking and super quiet during operation. It’s been roughly 3 months and I highly recommend Rinnai for customer service, quality, features and ease of installation. Very satisfied thus far.
