    • Gas Line size is 3/4" needs to be in specs. No customer service.

The unit seems to be well made, BUT, please note, this product needs a 3/4" propane gas line. We couldn't find what size line it took in any of the specs or description. Only until we received it and got it out of the box did we see in the instructions that it took 3/4" line (and that info was hard to find). Now it is non-returnable. Expensive mistake! On such an important component of the the unit, it should be in the description and the specs so you know before you order it. Hindsight, we should of contacted the seller and verified. They will not respond to our messages after we have bought it. Customer service is nonexistent from this seller. ... show more

It’s been a couple of months since I installed this. My old Rinnai developed a heat exchanger leak and wasn’t serviceable, parts discontinued. Wanted a replacement that would be easy to just “pop in” place. I couldn’t go with the newer higher efficiency ones because of the different exhaust pipes. My exhaust had the metal inside and plastic outside, not all plastic. Replacing all that would be too expensive. This model fit the bill and was on sale. I had hard piped everything in for the last one and since all the inlets and outlets were a little different in placement I had to do a little more work. This time I used the short flex pipes for the water and gas lines and made it so I can completely isolate the water heater even if I pull the valves right under the heater used for descaling. The next person will be thanking me. Having the phone app now is great. Although, we are so used to the old style remotes we mostly use those. That’s another great thing, our two decade old remotes from the old heater still connected perfectly with the new heater. That’s saved some money and work. I really love tankless heaters and Rinnai is a reliable name. Can’t imagine how much gas I’ve saved over the years with not heating a standing tank. Plus, our kids have never been accidentally scalded. Another bonus is the quieter exhaust fan. Still seems to have the same high quality of the first one even with it now being made in the US, versus Japan for the original one. ... show more

After our plumber installed the water heater, I turned on the heater, turned on shower got in,suds up and the hot water ended ! I went and turned off the water heater and turned it on again and went and turned on the shoer water was still cold. Unhappy customer. We quickly ordered a reputable brand from Amazon We hooked it up and everything is works beautifully, I packaged up the first one and come to find out it was to late to return the first one! ... show more

I installed this myself, which would have been easier with an extra set of hands. Heats up water fast, and I haven't had issues competing for hot water when others take showers. It is more efficient, the same hot water but 10 degrees lower than my old one.
