Bought this for my Mom. It was easy to charge (came with a charging cord and I charged it overnight). After charging I picked a spot over front door and followed directions on mounting. Mounting was easy with just a small ladder and a drill with phillips bit, mounting screws came with it, but I opted for longer durable decking screws that I had on hand. Took total of 5 min to mount. Once mounted, I downloaded the app onto my iPhone and followed instructions a few times and it eventually connected. It had trouble finding the device. I set my parameters on the app, tested out mic, lights, camera and with a hour of tinkering with settings I got it all to where I liked it. Reset some notification settings that were a bit annoying and the sensitivity that detects motion. I waited the whole 30 day trial and played around with video history and decided it was a good feature to continue on with and subscribed by going onto the account on my desktop computer and enrolling. The battery life is great. Might lose 1% a day max on one battery. Easy to take down and recharge battery, just have to grab the ladder, take whole camera inside and eject battery and recharge. No biggie. App shows you battery percentage. Battery did well during cold weather months. There's also a siren that I have yet to test out. Connected this to my Moms alexa echo show in kitchen so she can be alerted when someone is in driveway or at door and she can see and talk to whoever it is. Have had several issues with a neighborhood cat setting off motion detection. I highly recommend this camera. The motion lights were a nice surprise! Very bright and come on when motion is detected, perfect timing when looking for right key and unlocking. Also have the camera detection on car in driveway just in case. ... show more

I purchased along with solar panel and two batteries. Also purchased the gutter mount. This is self-sustaining and the solar panel charges batteries perfectly. No need to run AC power to the camera location. Picture quality is pretty good as is speaker and microphone. Motion detection and light works well at about the 30-40' range. Worked so well I purchased a second camera. Only negative is that it only comes with one battery. Buy a second and you'll never need to worry with the solar panel charging. I rarely see primary battery go below 85% while secondary remains at 100%. A nice sunny day recharges all back to 100%. Simply stated, works great! ... show more

I love the lights on these, and the feature to turn them on from the app at any time! Installation was super easy and all hardware was included! Paid these with solar panels and they're perfect!! Someone asked how to mount these under eaves.... we have one that is mounted to the eave so I just wanted to share how it's mounted and the view. Ring is a great product. The camera is crystal clear both day and night. The field of view is tremendous, and installation was simple and quick. Wish the mounting bracket was more durable than a simple piece of plastic. Ring needs to improve the locking mechanism on the swivel ball as you cant seem to tighten enough to lock camera in place. Lastly, if you plan to record, you will need to add this product to your Ring plan agreement. Overall, with the minor flaws, it's still a good product that we would definitely recommend. ... show more

Ring products are the best. I've bought several of their cameras including a ring doorbell and think they're well made and well thought out. This product in particular is very versatile in that you a mount it just about anywhere since it is completely wireless. The mounting plate allows you to attach it to any surfaces screws can penetrate and the rest attaches to that plate afterward. The battery, so far, has held its charge so I'm quite impressed. This thing also has built in siren you can activate remotely which is really useful. It also has two way radio communication allowing you to talk to visitors when you're not home or don't want to interact with someone face to face at your front door. It uses the same battery as my ring doorbell so this makes the batteries interchangeable between devices and this means I can buy additional batteries to swap out when one needs to be charge. Ring customer service has always been very each to call and get ahold of someone and they're helpful. I've never had to wait in a cue for tens of minutes. The spotlight is a bit weak, which is my only chief complaint about this product. Otherwise, this is a solid camera/spotlight/siren/two way radio. Solid product true and true!     • Camera stopped functioning after rain storm

UPDATE: Contacted Ring Customer Support and they were able to determine the camera was defective and I will be shipped a replacement camera covered under the warranty. Ordered 3 cameras, one of them stopped working after only having them for 2 months after a rain storm occurred. The cameras were professionally installed high up on my home making it difficult to troubleshoot the issue or take the camera down to make an attempt to reset it without contacting the installer. Very disappointing considering how expensive these cameras are along with the timeframe for having them installed on my home as outdoor cameras. ... show more
