Needed a camera for obvious reasons. I bought two of these. Set them up easily and quickly. The picture is clear, sound is good, and registered them for about $10 to retrieve info. Good deal.

Works great indoors, the field of view is good, the quality of video is quite good, the night vision modes work better than expected, and the mounting options are decent. I have one set up in the house, and one facing out a window. The window facing unit, even on the lowest setting picks up any movement. Leaf fell off a tree, car on the road 100ft away, wasp lands on the window, ect. The customizable "motion detecting zone" helps some, bit I still regularly get warnings from a shadow passing on the porch. I also had an amusing issue when I first set it up, where it would detect movement and turn in the led, then when the led turned off after the event, it registered that as movement, and repeated untill I moved the camera back from the window a bit. Another note is that if you have fancy windows with "solar sheild" or any similar coating, it will reflect the ir from the night vision right back into the camera, making it useless. Granted the instructions do say you will have reduced performance if you use it out a window, so it's not really an issue with the device, but still usefull to know. Only real issue I see is the privacy hinge that you can rotate to cover the camera feels very cheap and flimsy, also good luck turning it and not messing up it's angle and view if you have the unit setting on something and not mounted with the screws or something else. I ended up using a command adhesive strip to stick it on the tip shelf where I wanted it, works fine then.

I purchased this camera to use around the house depending on the need. For example, I have it trained on my 3-D printer so I can monitor longer print jobs while away from the print room. When it's not being used there, It's in my garage monitoring the garage door activity. We also placed it on the living room fireplace mantle while we were on vacation to keep an eye on the house - you can also monitor audio from the camera. The picture quality of the 1080p camera is pretty impressive, as is the dynamic range and low-light capability. When not in use, simply slide the cover over the lens, and it goes to sleep. Great versatility and integrates well with the rest of our Ring ecosystem. Also, at $60 (at least that's what it was when I purchased it), it won't be a budget buster compared to the added security you get.
