Description

14" Deluxe Bandsaw which provides woodworkers with a full 13-5/8" wide and 13" high cutting capacity. The increased 1-3/4HP, 115/230 dual volt motor, with two blade speeds of 2,950 or 1,445 ft/min, provides ample power for re-sawing and cutting lumber, plus, a variety of other materials such as non-ferrous metal, plastics, composites or foam.

    • Very happy with my new bandsaw
Really happy with the saw. Was a bit worried about delivery of such a big heavy thing, but went very smoothly. Arrived in a semi and my road isn't the easiest for big vehicles like that, but driver was great and got it to my door. Very happy to have a very nice bandsaw now. It can easily rip hardwood boards up to what, about 13". I do plan on creating boards out of some logs at some point, but haven't yet. I like using this thing. It runs smooth and is fairly low noise. I haven't had to do a whole lot of adjustments since the initial set up, but they are pretty easy to do and mostly without any tools. Also, I have only used the blade that came with the saw so far. The blade is good and has lasted. The cuts are good, but are a bit rough especially for thicker rip cuts and do need some post planing or sanding. I suspect I will be able to get smoother cuts once I change to a different blade, but I'm sticking with the one that came with it until a change is needed because it's working fine. My shop is in my basement and it was a bit of work to get it down there and set up because it is heavy, but I was able to do it by myself. Probably would have been helpful to have a second person though. I set it up with a Wen mobile base so that I can move it around if needed and it works pretty well. Overall, I'm very happy I picked this saw over some of the others I was looking at. I can't really imagine getting anything much better at this price point. ... show more

It shipped 2 or 3 days after I ordered. It shipped on Tuesday and delivered on Thursday. The driver dropped it right outside my shop door. The only caveat is that I wasn't contacted to schedule delivery. I just happened to call the carrier to inquire and was told it was out for delivery. I had to leave work and rush home and the driver showed up an hour later. He told me that it was set up as a no-signature delivery which is why I wasn't contacted. So if I hadn't called, they would have set a $1600 saw in my driveway and left without me knowing it was there. That's a little disconcerting. The saw is pretty simple to set up. The directions aren't great, but there are plenty of YouTube videos and you are basically only assembling the base, the table and the knobs and handles. It took about 4 hours from driveway to making first cuts. You'll want to make sure you have a helper. I attached the base while it was laying down, but I also put it on a mobile base. It takes 2 people to lift the saw, and it still required using blocking. About half the set up is making all the adjustments. Squaring the table and fence, adjusting guides, tracking, etc. If you are already familiar with bandsaws you will find this to be a breeze on this saw. I primarily do re-sawing and only use Olson blades, but I left the factory installed blade on the machine for now. I grabbed a 10 inch diameter 2 year air dried white oak log from my wood pile and cut it in half. Saw cut through it like butter. Finish was smooth. Hardly any detectable kerf marks. I also cut a walnut log. Same result. I've only set it up and made a dozen or so test cuts, so I can't speak to things like durability, but right out of the box I couldn't be happier with this purchase. This machine cost 5x as much as the WEN 10" bandsaw and performs 20X better. This is a no-brainer. ... show more

    • Great saw, great Rikon support
This is a great bandsaw. Rikon support is even better. Mine was dropped during shipping which damaged the motor housing. Called Rikon and they shipped out a new motor that day. Just did some resawing on a bunch of walnut up to 12” wide. The motor handled it with no problems.

    • Well Designed Tool
I was skeptical buying this on line due to shipping damage concerns) but the price was too good to pass up. I called the seller to confirm it was palletized. It was was very well packaged and arrived with no damage. Assembly was easy (there are many videos out there) but the sheet metal fit up for the middle shelf on the base was off. Took a couple of extra washers to correct. Instructions are actually pretty good - gotta read em folks and use the pictures. This tool is very well designed and super solid! Love the tool-less adjustments. Other than a few tweaks to level the table a bit on each axis and adjust the upper and lower guides the saw was calibrated and ready to go (blade alignment and tension were spot on from the factory). Adjustments to the lower guides are easy - don't believe the picky videos out there. Highly recommend this saw. ... show more

    • Good saw overall
Overall, this is a good bandsaw. It's not quite as powerful as I had hoped, but it does a very adequate job as long as I use the correct blade for the work I'm doing, and make sure it's still sharp. The dust collection port helps a little when I attach my DeWalt shop vacuum, but I still find that I have to clean up significant saw dust after use. Setup and alignment is easy, works well, and the alignment holds very well. The included fence has both a high wall (for resawing) and a low wall for simple cutting. Switching between the two is a bit of a pain, and requires aligning each time, but I consider that a minor issue. The table is large, well machined, and perfectly flat. It's also easy to set at an angle when needed, and has a precise 90 degree stop when returned (provided it was set properly during initial setup.) I don't generally cut metal on this saw, but it also has a lower speed setting specifically for metal cutting. ... show more

    • Very nice home use band saw
Very nice up scale bandsaw for home use. I will warn you to open large heavy box with right side up, since very substantial cast iron table may fall out of box on your toe if opened on its side. That being said, follow instructions and parts were easy to put together, I did get another person to help me lift the unit to standing. It is very heavy. Just follow instructions on setting up and truing unit. The supplied blade cuts well and I really like the Olson Saw blade information sheet inside upper door about blade width and cutting radius. I use the dust collector port and it works ok. I weather striped the door to increase suction in blade area. There is no upper wheel port. I would buy again. ... show more
