    • This worked GREAT with a PCIe 3.0 RAID controller (homemade DAS)!
I built a homemade DAS using this and an old LSI 9361 RAID controller. I was able to get ~750MB/sec sustained reading and writing with a 0.5M Oculink cable. I wrapped the Oculink cable around an EMI toroid 4-5 times to help with common mode noise. That along with swapping the PSU that powered the RAID system to a new Seasonic PSU helped get the noise down and made the data rate go up. This setup also works with the PCIe x1 Oculink cards that you can find on here. I have used the LetLinkSo PCIe 4.0 x1 Oculink card with no issues, it just runs slightly slower with the DAS. I was quite happy to figure out that that worked with this Riitop receiver and the LSI 9361. Extremely happy with this solution, but note that some other not as complete but workable solutions exist now too, including some that run off of a SATA power plug instead of the ATX power plug. But I was impressed with the noise shielding of the Riitop card and housing, at that it had a PCIe bracket holding solution, like for a GPU. ... show more
