  • PERFECT!
For the price how can you go wrong? Seriously...this is perfect for my 8 year old son. Smaller and colorful. He loves it, and I love how much I paid for it. Would recommend!

  • Compact and Affordable
Got this Rii Wired Gaming Keyboard for my teenaged son who is a PC gamer. He seems to be quite pleased with the overall design and how compact it is. He says the keys are a little more quiet than he usually prefers but still produce a mild, satisfying type sound. The RGB backlit display is nice with a few available customizations. Keep in mind this is a wired keyboard. Overall, very good quality and affordably priced. Two thumbs up! ... show more

  • Good value for gaming, maybe not for general use
Context: I'm a long-time PC gamer. I own a controller but prefer to play most games with a mouse and keyboard. I also use my computer for general purposes (emails, document editing, etc.). My PC came with a standard keyboard. I have keyboard and mouse on a retractable tray (below desktop level) that is about 26 inches wide. I can barely fit a mouse pad next to my keyboard and the mouse sometimes collides with the keyboard during gaming, which is seldom a good thing. Also, after just a year the surface of some keys was so worn that I could barely read them. I thought I'd give the RK104 gaming keyboard a try. I've used it for about 2 weeks. Pros: * Materials and keyboard action seem solid. * I like the overall LED lighting scheme and it really impressed my 9-year-old grandson. * Lighting turns off automatically when the PC goes into sleep mode or is shut down. * Width is that of my standard keyboard with the number pad chopped off, so it leaves plenty of room for my mouse. Cons (for me -- maybe not for everyone): * There are no extendable legs, so the keyboard sits flat on my tray. I find this less comfortable. * Keys are "classic", extending about 8 mm above the background surface, and must be depressed about 4 mm. I doubt that a fast typist would like this action for general use. * I miss having the number pad but that's the price I'm paying for the compact size. * The keyboard has indicator lights for Caps Lock and other special keys, but they are hard to see with the keyboard flat on the desk. I didn't notice that the indicator lights were there for my first week of use. * The markings on some keys are odd. For example, the ?/ key shows the characters side-by-side in that sequence. On the other hand, the [{ has them side-by-side with the shift character in the opposite position. Other keys show the shift character above, as on all keyboards I've used. Some abbreviations would be difficult for an inexperienced user to understand. Example: the three keys in the upper-right-hand location (PS, SL, PB). I'm assuming this was done to make it easier to backlight them. * The lighting is a mixed blessing. I tend to lean back while gaming. With this keyboard, that makes it difficult to read the upper keys. Also, I find the keys with green backlighting easy to read but others, especially the blue ones, are too dark for me. I would prefer a uniform (bright) white backlighting for key legibility. * The USB cord is about 14 inches shorter than the one that came with my PC. I had to drill a hole in the back of my desk in order to route the cord to the back of my PC. ... show more

  • Perfect in every way except that it doesn't have riser feet in back to use at an angle
This is beautiful, and offers full-sized keys in a compact size by dropping the number pad on the side, which for me was not needed anyway. It is really hard to find a keyboard that is compact, LED, AND actually wired and not wireless or Bluetooth, which are not needed and a bother on a regular gaming desktop, and this fits every criteria I wanted. The LED colors are beautiful, they look great in a bright room or in the dark, and help me work and play at night without needing my overhead desk light to see what I'm doing. If the brightness is too much for you it is adjustable, which is great, but for me the default maximum brightness looks cool and was just the right amount of colorful eye-candy. The keys themselves are large and feel good, with plenty of spring, they are great for typing and the compact size does not feel restrictive thanks to the full-sized keys and key-caps used. The click of the keys is not very loud, about average, just enough to let you know you're using them, though the spacebar is a little "squeaky". This is basically the keyboard I'd been searching for all year, and my one and only real complaint is that it has no feet or pop-outs on the back to adjust it so that it sits at a slight angle with the back higher than the front. Having to type on a keyboard which sits entirely flat is a little awkward for me and so I needed to get risers to add to this, versus my old keyboard which had handy feet that popped out of the back to do that for me. A minor complaint, which I can work around, but this is really the only gaming keyboard I've had WITHOUT risers for the back, which is a bummer. To get such a compact keyboard which fits under most desk cubbies, has full-sized keys for easy typing, beautiful LED colors AND a decent wired cord and not a needless Bluetooth connection that interferes with my WiFi signal, this is basically the perfect thing and I couldn't be happier. 5-stars, I am absolutely happy with this! ... show more

  • Great for the price
Recently I had a few keys break off on an old keyboard so I was looking to replace it. Saw this one as I was looking at tkl boards and decided to get it to try. I've been using it for gaming and some work over the last month and its proven to be very reliable and work perfectly. No keys have stuck or failed to return and every input is read perfectly! The keys are soft, but that seems to be the norm with membrane keyboards anyways. All of the keys feel good and work without exception. Even when gaming, the board has n-key rollover so there's no worry about an inability to use simultaneous inputs. RGB is nice and can easily be toggled off via the key. All key labels are clean and easy to see, even without the backlight going. Function keys all work with no problems as well on windows 10 pc's. Overall the ABS plastic and construction of this board make it feel rigid without a lot of weight. Although the board is not adjustable, the height and shape work great for me while using it for extended periods of time without getting uncomfortable or cramped. For the price, and good quality, this board was a good find for me to have on hand until I get another mechanical board like I prefer. Great substitute in the mean time for me. ... show more
