I have a Ridgid kit I bought over 20 years ago with the huge 18 volt NiCD batteries. It still worked perfectly but the batteries quit charging. I ordered some replacement cells and did all that but they only held a charge for about 10 mins. I started looking at switching it over to Lithium Ion batteries and ordered this one planning on switching all the internals out. The media could not be loaded. You can’t beat the price of this for a genuine rigid 4.0 battery. It works great. I’ve had no issues with it so far. If anything changes will I update this review but so far I’m very pleased, especially for the price compared to HD. It also works with my other rigid chargers and drills. ... show more

It is a nice feature to be able to check the battery level while using the saw so know how long can keep working before have to recharge

My main portable cordless tool line is Ridgid. I have put their cordless tools to the test many times and have not been disappointed until now. My only complaint is that they often are late to the table (market) with tool features that others like Milw**kee have already put out on the market. I attempted to register these batteries under the Lifetime Service Agreement as stated on the packaging label and Ridgid refused to do it because they stated they were not purchased from an authorized seller of their products. They are the only major manufacturer that warranties batteries for life and I have many registered with them. I provided the model and serial numbers as well as the receipt from the two batteries three times but they would not budge, to be honest, it would have been nice to get the Lifetime Service Agreement but the price on these batteries, which are Ridgid's latest and greatest, is approx. a $70 savings on the two from "an authorized retailer," just do not expect the Lifetime Service Agreement as stated on the printed package.
