  • Great solution for people who work long days
My boyfriend works 12 hour days, 6 days a week. Certain times of year we have a lot of rain so it's no big deal if he doesn't get out to water his vegetables, which he grows in containers. But other times it gets very dry. This drip system, paired with a timer, means he can set it and forget it and his veggies get watered on those long days he's at work and it's been dry for days in a row. It works great, relatively easy to set up. Decent value. ... show more

  • Cost and effectiveness
Very inexpensive and works great. I learned the hard way HA. You don't need to put too many heads in the garden. The images make it look like it doesn't disburse a ton or water for a big area. That is false. I have a raised bed 5' wide. I only needed to install a head every 5 ft in the center of my bed. It covers the whole thing. ... show more

  • Easy to set up - ideal for a small garden
Although we have well water and get "free" water, I still don't like using more water to water the garden than necessary. With this system installed, I use far less water and feel like the roots are getting more water than they were getting from a sprinkler. Once you look at everything for a minute to plan out how you want to install the system, it goes into place quite easily. The instructions suggest that you use hot water to make it easier to attach the 1/4" line to the barbs, but as long as the sun is out, it's not necessary. After getting everything where I wanted it, and ensuring everything was secure, I turned on the water full blast (we have serious water pressure!) and was very happy to see there were no leaks anywhere! The spray pattern was wider than I wanted, so it was very easy to adjust each one down to just the right amount. For my setup, I had far more 1/4" line than necessary, but would rather have more than I need than not have enough. Overall, we're very happy with literally every aspect of this system. ... show more

  • Barb style connectors are very difficult to get a secure attachment
I was so disappointed to realize even though I used and loved a Riboud irrigation system before this particular system did not come with the quick connect pieces but rather the barb style ones. Having to dip each tube into a thermos of near boiling water in order to connect to emitters and couplings quadrupled the time it took to set up this system. In addition the force it took to get each connection secure created blisters on my thumb and pointer finger. The Riboud irrigation system is easy to understand and when you select the “quick connect” NOT “barb style”, you will be very satisfied! I wish I had noticed there were two different options in this product! ... show more

  • Assembly is a little tough, but this thing is awesome.
My daughter and I started a raised garden bed this spring, and I really wanted to give us the best chance of success. Knowing that unrolling and hose and rolling it back up every day wouldn't be something either one of us would do, I knew a watering solution was in the cards. Setting up this system was absolutely not easy but it was kind of fun if you like weird puzzles where you may or may not get soaked. It took some trial and error, but eventually my daughter and I got it set up with an automatic timer. We only used 6 of the included sprinklers and a few feet of the rubber tubing in a 4x8 garden, so this kit has you covered, and then some. And then some more. Seriously we could probably irrigate the whole front yard with this thing. We haven't had a single problem with the system since we set it up a few weeks ago. Installation wasn't easy, but having this irrigation system has paid off in droves. Our plants are absolutely thriving and looking incredibly healthy. My daughter is so proud of her garden, and so am I. Overall, I highly highly recommend. ... show more

  • Great Watering System with Minor Issues
The media could not be loaded. This watering system works well and is easy to install. To get started, connect a hose connector between a garden hose and the large black hose included in the sprinkler system. The package includes a stopper for the opposite end of this black hose. Next, you must cut the hose and connect the four way splitter to the two cut segments. This splitter is what allows you to connect the actual irrigation heads. When installing the irrigation heads, I found that placing the heads in the final position and then measuring out a slightly longer piece of vinyl hose than the distance between the irrigation head and the splitter worked well. Also, the set includes several "T" connectors to fit the small vinyl tube. These connectors allow you to attach multiple irrigation heads per four-way splitter output. I have owned similar systems in the past and found that connecting several irrigation heads together can result in poor watering due to low water pressure. When using this system, I connected two heads together with a "T" connector and did not notice a drop in water pressure, so as long as you don't connect more than three heads in series, low pressure should not be an issue. When running the system, I was able to cover my entire small garden using only 6 of the blue soaker heads. The entire system could likely water a fairly large garden. However, this watering system is not perfect. I am using it when the weather is already getting hot in Arizona and after a hose sits in the sun, it can build up a lot of heat. When I turned the system on once, this heat created pressure and caused the small vinyl tubes to explode from the sprinkler heads. Make sure to release any possible built-up pressure before turning on these sprinklers. ... show more

  • Effective and Good Design, Especially the 1/2" connectors!
Used to expand out our irrigation system and the 1/2" connectors were a real breeze to use, very impressed! The 1/4" tubing was perfectly fine but I'm not as much a fan of the barb style vs the quick connects. Just make sure you REALLY press them on and then they're set! Emitter output was great (love the vortex ones!) and adjusting them was intuitive and smooth. Minor fiddling requiring to get the flow balanced but nothing that you wouldn't have to do with other brands. Would buy again. ... show more
