This is a nice handheld that comes with a ton of preloaded ROMS. The size is nice though it will only really work well for certain hand sizes. I have average sized adult hands and if they were any smaller I would think this would be uncomfortable to hold. The SD card that arrives with the unit is terrible and should be the first thing you replace before you bring it somewhere to kill some time and find that it won't boot. It comes with a nicely made case which is a great addition. What kept us from giving it a 5-star rating is the d-pad. If you are going to play any games where accuracy is a must then this might not be the device for you. There are a ton of hacks online that seem easy enough to do but when you plunk down close to $100, it shouldn't need further modifications. Overall we feel it's a 3.5 star product at best.

The media could not be loaded. The RG34XX is another enjoyable retro device from Anbernic, but the included SD card storing all the ROMs on it failed shortly after first use. I had to reformat the card and add my own ROMs to get the console working again. Unfortunately, this is a fairly common occurrence with these types of handhelds. Aside from the SD card problem, I found the 34XX to be a great retro gaming console. If you were a fan of the GameBoy Advance, this form factor will be something you'll appreciate. Everything from early Atari 2600 games to more modern arcade hits play very well on this device. While I personally would have preferred an analog thumbstick among the controls, I understand the 34XX is trying to capture more of GBA vibe. The screen is a perfect ratio for most games in this category. I also liked the volume toggle wheel. It works better than the standard +/- buttons. If it wasn't for the SD card issue, I could have given it five stars. Having the preloaded ROMs fail in the first 30 minutes was very frustrating to deal with. However, I now have my own personal library loaded up on the machine and everything seems to be working perfectly.
