As someone who has used the little oil blotting sheets for years, I was skeptical but hopeful about the face roller. Regardless of my setting spray, the blotting sheets had a habit of taking off at least some of my makeup when I would use them, which could sometimes leave my makeup looking patchy, but at least not oily. I stumbled on this face roller entirely by accident (yay algorithms) and decided it was cheap enough to give it a go. First use, I was winging it and assumed I could just do a zig-zag with the roller to get rid of the oily parts. I'm not sure if it was just my particular roller or if it is true for all of them, but that was a mistake! The ball got stuck multiple times and would drag across my skin, scraping off makeup in the process and not doing a very good job with oil reduction. That was frustrating and disappointing, but I decided I would give it another try later. Second use, I tried only running the roller in one direction for each swipe. It worked like a charm! The oil absorbed flawlessly, even the oil on and around my nose, which I wasn't sure the roller could get to very well. By only going one direction with each pass, my makeup stayed put and the ball rolled smoothly. I've been using this roller for a few weeks now and it has become an essential item for my purse/backpack. Cleaning it is easy - just some water and my cleanser, then let it air dry overnight and pop it back together as I do my morning routine. Last note, I saw that one of the "features" of this product is "giftable" - please be thoughtful if you want to gift this to someone. Some people may have no problem receiving this as a gift while others may become embarrassed and then never use it just because it reminds them that you think they have an oil problem (which may be accurate, but chances are the person knows they have an oily face and they may be self-conscious about it). What you could do instead is mention that you saw this product and thought it was a neat idea. If you really want it to be a gift, give them an Amazon gift card for around the same amount "just because you're awesome" or something. Not everyone is sensitive about these things, but some people are, so just use your best judgment, and thanks for being thoughtful! :)

Bought this to help combat summer sweet and sunscreen oil. Haven’t used it with sunscreen but OH LORD DOES THIS WORK. I personally don’t have very oily skin but when I tried it out on a friend with moderate oils the thing CHANGED COLORS, GOT RID OF HER OIL SHINE, AND DIDN'T REMOVE HER MAKEUP. This will forever stuck with me like a burr stuck in my hair. AMAZING (you can also wash it really easily too which I love)

I love how small it is, maybe the height of my ring finger. Definitely does what it's supposed to but anything after one use and it doesn't really absorb unless you wash it then let it dry overnight. So pros and cons

I wasn't sure how well this would actually work, as I struggle daily with an oily forehead, nose, and chin. But for less than $15 and reusable, I went for it. As others mentioned, this really does pull the oil right off, leaving a much more matte look. For me, it seems to last about an hour before I need to do it again, but it's a GREAT replacement for using napkins or wipes!! I just wash the ball with soap and water at the end of the day, let it dry for a couple hours, and throw it back together. You can see the color change on the ball between oil soaked and clean, just like with wipes. Pretty nice little item to have around!

I bought this product to put in my emergency wedding kit. I tried it and the little ball does not like to roll smoothly on the face. I will try again because I think this is a neat product. Also, if you have problems with textures it can be a little unsettling to roll on the face.

The before and after photos sold me, they are not edited, this thing works! I don’t fully understand how but it is so much better than blotting paper. Simply roll over your face and bam, no more oil. I live in Michigan where it gets humid AF and this thing is a life saver. I keep one in my purse and one in my desk at home. I bought a third for my mom and she loves hers. 10/10

Super easy to use, and very effective for removing oil shine quickly without messing up your makeup! I’ve been using the same one for years (yes, years) it’s easy to clean with antibacterial soap and hot water. Then just pop it back in the case and let it dry and it’s as good as new! It’s convenient to carry in your purse or car too because it’s literally the length of your index finger!
