Description

The Retrax IX is a flush-mounted retractable tonneau cover constructed of durable aluminum slats linked by a strong elastomer hinge, eliminating the opportunity for water and debris to enter your truck bed. When combined with the UV-resistant matte finish powder coat, the cover helps keep your truck bed and cargo protected and secure in the roughest of conditions. The Retrax IX's convenient release handle allows the cover to roll into a custom spiral canister at the front of the bed, protecting the cover and reducing wear and tear. I put the cover on my new 2022 Chevy Silverado. Looks great! Works Great! The broken roller guide that I found when I opened the box really upset me. I decided to live with it instead of boxing it all back up to return for a new cover. I also found that after installing completely and had some small shims left over that it must have been for another application. Investigating further found that in the back of the instructions was where vehicle specific instructions were, including my truck. Not happy about having to take it back apart to install. Instructions could have been a bit more clear to guide me through it the first time. Regarding quality for money, we will see how it holds up through the sun beating on it in the summer. Hoping it does not fade. We will also see how it handles being rolled up after a freezing rain event. I am expecting nothing less than great results. Time will tell!! ... show more

Except for the front, this cover leaks water from both sides and the back. I'm tried multiple times to adjust the levels. I even tried making my own gasket using materials from Home Depot. Nothing works. The issue I have here is water seeps in from the cover, down the railing, and out to the sides. There's a little "drain ditch" on the railing that's supposed to contain the water and lead it down the drain at the front. However, this ditch is so shallow that water just overflow into the truck bed. I wish the manufacturer would have spent more time to redesign this. Adding depth to the ditch would solve the issue. I had a cheap $300 trifold tonneau cover for almost 10 years without leak. I bought this thinking it's an upgrade. I regret the purchase. As you can see from one of the pictures, I bought a storage box to keep my stuff from getting wet. I'm thinking about selling this for a loss and look for a better cover. ... show more

Purchased this product. Delivery of product was very good. 2 guys showed up on time and delivered into my garage with no issue. Opened up the packaging that evening and discovered that it is missing the screws and allen wrench needed to put it together. The allen wrench is not a big deal as I have that in the size, however the fact that it didn't have the specific screws needed to put the product together is terrible. Can't comment on the actual product as of yet, but seems to have arrived with no damage. I've read other reviewers state that the actual cover has been bent or warped in some cases, so hopefully that is not the case. Had to order the mounting hardware from somewhere else as the only option available to get assistance through the purchased product was to initiate a return, which I don't want to do. Just want the parts that are supposed to come with it. Will probably update this once I can actually install it. ... show more

This rack warped as soon as the summer hit! If you live ANYWHERE warm, 90+ degree heat, I'd steer clear of this rack. I live in northern Utah... it gets to 100 a few weeks out of the year. This racked didn't even make it through one summer before warping and lumping up. Customer Services at Retrax calls this "extreme" heat, which is crazy to me, and basically a shrug off. $1400+ for a rack that warps, beware. ... show more
