The Retevis EHG001 Premium Aviation Headset is a solid choice with good features for the price. The passive noise reduction is effective, though it doesn’t fully cancel out noise—it gets close enough to make a difference in loud environments. The headset is comfortable for long flights, and switching between mono and stereo modes is easy. However, the microphone does pick up some static, which affects clarity a bit, so communication isn't as crisp as I'd like. I got these for a friend who has an airplane . he already has a few nice sets but these were going to be his backup. he likes them a lot so now they are his regular ones and the nice ones are his backup

Bought this as a backup/passenger headset. Audio and build quality is good. My passenger complained the set put too much pressure on her ears during a long flight. For shorter trips, will be more than adequate.

My daughter is a pilot and takes me up often with her and I'm slightly a germaphobe especially after the pandemic and things that go by your mouth so using the headsets in the plane wasn't appealing to me so I got these.     • Good sound quality and sound pickup by the mic; no certification
The headphones have good sound definition, at least for voice. The mic seems sensitive, and picks well the voice over background noise. The independent volume controls for ear cups work well, with no scratching or any audible disturbance. The mono / stereo switch works too, but feels like a general use, cheap part. I did not tinker with the mic sensitivity. The quality of the construction looks good. These have metal forks for the ear cups, which is essential for reliability in such headphones. Sturdy headband, with good padding all around. These are not as comfortable as general use headphones, there is noticeable more side pressure on the ear cups and the fit is tighter, which is by design, to ensure these stay in place when the ride gets rough. For aviation use, the audio quality is important, and these headphones do seem adequate in this respect. But reliability is essential, and a bulletin of testing and certification is essential for entrusting these. Room in the cockpit is at a premium, and there is no margin of error when communication is needed. I could have never imagined an aviation headset would come without detailed technical specs and certification. ... show more

This isn’t a bad headset, but I think it is a bit overpriced for what you get. The materials are just okay, and should last with gentle, periodic use. The headset is well padded, and these do offer some noise canceling, but not as much as some of other headsets I have used. I like that they come with a bag for storage. The mic is decent, no complaints there. I am not a big fan of the button/knob placements, but that is part of getting used to a new headset I suppose.
