5 stars because it is exactly what it says it is. 3 stars for the purchaser for not reading the description. It's a great net. It is definitely going to work for smaller fish, which was honestly what it was purchased for. In my head, I could use it to pull 20 pound fish out of the river. I don't think the capacity and construction would be a good fit for that. But. pulling some 3-8 pounders out of the water. Definitely. Honestly. Bought this for my son to catch frogs and insects. Ended up using it to retrieve a large snapping turtle from the pond net. The net and frame both held an estimated 50-70 pounds. I would absolutely recommend this and will be buying another!

I used this for the first time to remove fish from a koi pond, and the net tore after only about the third dip. It clearly needs a better-quality of netting. The folding design and telescoping handle are nice touches, but those features are of little value if the netting itself is not durable. Update to first review, sell offer a full refund due to the net quality. There for I upped the rating to four star just for the customer service. ... show more

I bought this to safely catch geckos that get in my condo in Hawaii. If my cat eats them he’ll get worms so I have to catch them as soon as my cat alerts me to their presence. The bar across the top is flexible and won’t hurt the geckos or the walls/ceiling when catching them.

I bought this net for my son because we live in an area with a lot of rain, and our ditch often fills up with tadpoles and little creatures. He loves using nets to play after it rains, so I thought this would be perfect. The net works, but I was a little disappointed in two areas. First, I expected it to extend further than it does-totally my fault for not paying closer attention to the measurements. Second, the net is attached to the frame with a zip tie, which felt a bit cheap and not the quality I was hoping for.
