Stretch Your Lower Back 30 Minutes a Day: 1. Lie flat on a bed. 2. Locate the lumbar pillow around the middle of your lower back. Gently reposition on the pillow, up or down along your spine to locate the most comfortable position for your back. 3. Bent your knees, put your hand straight up your head. 4. Once comfortable, allow your lower back to settle further into the support. Taking slow deep breaths helps to relax. 7. Take notice of how the support is reinforcing your posture. The most important feature is that it is customizable for the different height that needed to support the low back curve ( lumbar lordosis). If the lumbar curve is low, the extra pad can be taken out. If the curve is higher, then use the extra pads ( 1 or 2 pads depending on the support needed). I am an osteopath. Useless for ME. I could see it lacked build as soon as it was taken out of the package. I gave it 24 hours to “fluff up”, to no avail. I purchased this to help alleviate pain from SI dysfunction in my lower back. I was hoping to get a little bit of support pursuant to an upcoming spine fusion. Not to make the pain go away (which is why I am having surgery). I just wanted something to help align my back when sleeping on my side. I had been using a rolled up bath towel. Other reviewers complain of an unpleasant smell. The item did have a faint chemical aroma but not bad enough to make a difference. The main problem that I found was its total lack of support build. If the added pads are removed, you’re left with NOTHING except a pillowcase! Even folding it in half doesn’t help. After I return this, if I can’t find another pillow, I will just go back to my rolled towel. UPDATE: This company has an amazing response time for complaints, immediately reaching out to me. For me, customer service behind a product is key. Although this pillow was not a good fit for me, other consumers with a lot less lumbar issues may like this one. I bought it because of its extra pads. My spine has significant degenerative issues due to systemic lupus. SAVED MY LIFE, I bought this pillow because I experienced a really bad back spasm because of the pressure put on my back because of my job. Even though I’d experience spasms before, I knew that I needed to do as much as possible to help my back relieve pressure that was under my control. I usually sleep on it even though I feel like you can also put it against a chair. This to me didn’t take away my pain. It just kind of after a few days proved effective because it really held my back accountable. Hahahahahaha. my muscles were inflamed and it needed a controlled source to make sure that.
