  • Very effective
I’ve been using these for years around the barn and pasture. I’ve found they work best, attract any more flies, if hung at ground level instead of higher up. A friend who owns a large ranch with cattle advised this. Makes sense, that’s where the manure is. Yes, the smell is terrible as they fill; I change them in early morning, when the air is still and cooler. I already hung three, mid-April, and could have done so earlier— I was surprised (and grateful) at how many flies are trapped, never to breed. Each fly trapped supposedly reduces the seasonal number by tens of thousands. ... show more

  • Work great
Good value. We have horses and the neighbors have cows so there are a lot of flies. These work great to catch a lot of them so fewer to bother us or reproduce. They do need to be hung away from living areas since they draw flies and stink. These work better than other brands and are the big bags so they don't fill up so fast. ... show more

  • I catches the flies.
It does a good job catching flies, but it smells like death. Be careful taking it down that you do not spill any. Rain fills up the bag too.

  • Oh my gawd
We had a laugh reading Zane Cuthill’s review when we ordered these, what a funny guy…couldn’t be that bad could it? After a day we had a few flies in there and we were very excited. By the next day though word about the hottest new Fly Club in town had evidently spread and, well, they were pushing and shoving to get in. My wife wasn’t able to sleep that night. I was praying that God is not a fly lover because if he/she is I am going to Hell on the Express train. This bag probably holds 100,000 flies who don’t fly in and die peacefully. Remember the GoT Jon Snow Battle of the Bastards? This is worse. Way worse. Way way worse. The product works. It’s Amazing. Whoever made this is a genius. Buy this, BUT DON’T LOOK INSIDE OF IT AND DON’T BREATHE IN TOO DEEPLY. ... show more

  • Check for flaws in seal
These bags really do help control flies. I live on 16 acres with animals all around me and the bags significantly reduce the number of flies that get in my house. However, the last two sets of bags have had at least one bag that leaks, which aside from making a mess, lets the smell of the attractant out too! ... show more

  • FREAKING RAD on keeping flies down...but don't look inside unless you want to have nightmares...
I've been using these things for a while now and they work great for me. I live in northeastern california. Hot and dry summer climate. When the water gets low later in the summer is when the flies tend to get bad. I also live next to a creek so that doesnt help. I hang these, one at a time, on my shed, a good ways away from my house. The smell these things put off is horrid but only from short distances. The flies are not drawn to the trap immediately. It takes a day or two. Hot, dry, stagnant air seems to draw them in better for some reason. I made the mistake of taking a peek inside to see how many flies might have "lost their way." To my horror I not only found seemingly hundreds of dead or dying flies mounded on top of each other in the gross smelling liquid...but maggots feeding on the dead, dying and decaying. I would rather watch an episode of tele-tubbies with my eye lids pried open with those weird eye things from Clock-Work Orange rather than see a second of what I saw happening in that bag...my advice...set the thing out, leave it until it's full, then throw it away. Your life will be void of flies and nightmares that may haunt you for the rest of your life. ... show more

  • They Work!
Not often you find something these days that works as advertised. These do. We live in the country and flies are thick with cattle and poultry farms nearby. Bought these from a recommendation of a friend and am glad I did. With just one bag up, flies are noticeably reduced. Will hang a second on on the other end of the property to reduce them more. Great product ... show more

  • I've purchased 18 of these--here are a few HINTS FOR USE (these are GREAT!)
1) hang high enough so children won't be tempted to play with them 2) they discourage birds from visiting very close, so don't put them where you would like to see birds (tested with wild turkeys and song birds) 3) only fill ONE AT A TIME with water and hang immediately with a strong string or wire--I use trees 4) if you drop a new one that has been filled with water, it can break (done that!) 5) keep filling to line with water every month or so and they will keep catching flies--mine have over-wintered and they are still catching this Spring 6) put a date on the front with a sharpie so you can tell which are newest--the amount of flies is great in in all of them, so it can be hard to tell, but when they get old/full of flies, I put a new one near the old one--both keep catching until the old one is so full the flies can't get in anymore 7) when you take one down, immediately double bag it with plastic garbage bags and throw it in an outside garbage can 8) keep them at least 40 or 50 feet from where people congregate to avoid smell and the flies it attracts 9) be careful when refilling with water (use a watering pot) DON'T TAKE DOWN! if you spill some of the contents on yourself, you will need a shower and complete change of clothes (done that!) 10) these really do catch THOUSANDS of flies--and just think about all of the eggs these flies didn't get a chance to lay! ... show more
