When we found our baby box turtle in the yard, I looked up what would be a good substrate for the turtle cage to keep him warm and safe in his cage this winter. This product was mentioned in a lot of articles. This bag filled up his part of his turtle cage. I ended up buying two packages to fill the entire cage. It was a different material than the dirt outside the turtle was used to, but he seems to like it and burrows in it, which is nice.
