It came in a vacuum sealed package and was intact and clean, I took it apart and soaked 1/4 of the block and it expanded way more than I expected and I have tons left over. Very happy with this purchase and my beardie will have plenty more substrate for at least the next year or so.

We have multiple reptile cages/terrariums in our household. We tend to use this kind of compressed coconut husk and hydrate it with water as we need it. You do have a few extra steps to get it ready for use, but the amount you receive for the price makes it worth it, it's typically much, much cheaper than the prepared loose coconut husk substrate. ... show more

    • Add water to brick to separate and fluff.
The media could not be loaded. Product was more in line with the price of what it should be. This is a bedding that in some cases is discarded quickly. For me at least. Add water to the brick so it expands and is easy to use. Desired texture will be achieved from drenching the block with water, letting it expand, breaking the clumps up by hand, and then add the fiber to your tank setup. ... show more
