My spool was well within tolerance (slightly oval, average of 1.76mm cross-section, max measured of 1.78, min of 1.74) and prints perfectly as ABS. Enclosure temperature 50°, Bed temperature 110° (Geckotek surface), hotend 240°. Excellent layer adhesion at 240°. Well wrapped, not overly tight or bunched to one side. The spool is not the same one I've seen from RepRapper before, and I like this one much better, a big open hole with no weird inset smaller bits. The new spools aren't warped like they used to be either. Came with a nozzle cleaning needle and what appears to be about a 9" square PEI sheet... presumably so people would have a suitable build surface for ABS. The PEI sheet isn't very textured, so you'll likely want to take some steel wool to it to scuff it up before printing if you use it. Of course, this *is* straight ABS, so it will warp and/or crack without an enclosure or hot enough bed. Really, nothing to complain about. Everything is in spec, and price is quite reasonable. Remember if you're shopping by price that ABS has lower density, so you get about 25% more filament per kg than you do with PLA or PETG. ... show more

This filament was wound very well, comes on a nice, low density spool that looks to be made of recycled materials. The spool has placement holes to keep the filament in place when not in use. The packaging is great, although the plastic at the top of the zipper could be taller. It printed quite well at 212 C on a 55 C bed and never lost adhesion. Let me tell ya about reprapper mpla. Its amazing!! Seriously!! I've tried other brands and reprapper is my GO TO when printing ANYTHING with consistency and detail. I printed a onewheel stand with reprapper brand MPLA otherwise known in other brands as modified pla or pla+. ZERO stringing, excellent layer adhesion and holds up to heat much better than other brands of pla/pla+ its like printing with PETG without the headaches. I have tried 3d solutech, overture, hatchbox and this is comparable in a league closely matched to prusament at 1/3 the cost I ran out of solutech pla in the middle of a print and finished it with reprapper and besides the shade of color, nobody would be any the wiser. If you want strength in your PLA prints that will hold up a little better to heat, this is the choice to go with vs the other filament offered in Amazon. Reprapper is amazing with standing behind their product and is ALWAYS happy to offer troubleshooting when you message them. Attached is a photo of a print I did in reprapper modified pla. I used a 0.6mm nozzle, 220c nozzle temp, 55c bed temp, 50mm/s speed on a creality cr-10 v3 printer. If you have issues with their filament, be sure to go over your settings. I have went through over 150 rolls with minimal issues mostly being user issues. Please note.. I dont take the time to write reviews. Its not worth my time. Im just this impressed with the quality filament. Hopefully this recommend helps others in deciding on good filament. Thanks again for the quality filament!!! - paul ... show more

    • The Red PVB is not good!

I ordered this stuff thinking, "for that price how could I go wrong?" Well, I found out! Initially, this stuff printed well and adhered well. If it had remained like that I probably would have given it a 5 star rating. But then I got toward the middle of the roll. It was like they'd spooled the filament on the roll while it was still hot and tacky or something. The filament was completely adhered to itself. So there's this huge clot in there. So I started trimming, thinking, "perhaps it's better a little further in". Yeah, not so much. Eventually I got to some that could be peeled free from the clotted mass, but the filament was so brittle it'd just snap off every few feet. I guess now I know why it was so inexpensive compared to other PVB filaments on the market. ... show more

This is really great PLA. It's not as brittle as other brands. It is very touch and worked very well for some home decorations. and even made some great toys for the kids. Will buy again. Note** You have to print this filament about 10 hotter than normal PLA.

    • Arrived Sealed but Completely Waterlogged- Reprapper Replaced Promptly!

Update 3/1/2023: I reached out to Reprapper directly and they promptly sent out a new roll free of charge. It just arrived nice and fully vacuum-sealed and after a quick temp tower it's printing with no issues (aside needing to up the retraction+cooling) and no popping! Pros: 1. Is PVB; taking the bent bits off the spool during install into my printer and putting them into a jar with IPA, they started to melt into red goo within the hour. 2. The red color is nice and is very close to the official photos. 3. The spool is made of some kind of thin paper pulp but it still rolls smoothly on my "The Ultimate Spool Holder". 4. Sticks well to PEI beds at 65C. Cons: 3. The odor is a bit strong. It's like that first burst of cardboard and cheddar you get when opening a new box of Cheez-Its. Ventilation is recommended. Definitely contact Reprapper if you find your roll arrives without a good. strong vacuum and pops like a cup of soda when fed into your printer. Last 3kg Spool I purchased was perfect. This spool however was not. The filament was very brittle and would break inside the boden tube and cause issues. Be careful!
