I think the replacement remotes Amazon sells are faulty, because I haven't been able to use my TV in almost a year. I thought I was going to have to throw it out. This works BETTER than the original. Love the preprogrammed buttons on the bottom for the services we actually use daily! Very easy to set up.

    • It works but has some issues
First off this remote has a cheap feeling plastic you notice immediately. When taking off the back cover for the battery this feels even cheaper. It also can flex. Like a lot. Compared to an OG remote which is more ridged it makes me second guess quality. Also I've noticed that the remotes volume keys seem to act like they are being pressed twice sometimes. I noticed several times of just pressing once that the volume would jump up 2 instead of one. So that means the micro-switch(es) are probably bad or just poor quality. None of the other buttons seem to have an issue though. All that out of the way. Buttons also seem just as clicky as the OG. It is nice that in the battery compartment that there is a small lip where the batteries go in that will hold them in the remote if the back comes off. Having small kids it's popped off multiple times and batteries go missing. I think this may help. Alexa also works as it should with no issues. I didn't experience any issues with the setup process either with the Fire stick. Just like pairing any other report. It's an OK remote but just wish it was a bit higher quality over all. ... show more

Given our household, it's always a good idea to have a backup remote. I liked that the pre-programmed buttons on the bottom of the remote are the 4 services that we use the most. The remote itself feels cheap, especially compared to the remote that came with our FireTV. The plastic body has a bit of flex to ut when pressing buttons. The surface finish is more of a pebbled texture vs. the smooth/ glossy texture of the FireTV remote. That being said, it works great.
