I had to replace my seven year old laptop battery as it was swelling, and I ordered this one as a replacement. It was inexpensive, and it was pretty easy to put it, once we got off the back cover of the laptop. I've had it in for a few days and it charges up in about an hour or two, which is similar to my old battery. It lasts 2-3 hours when I'm gaming. I haven't gotten any error messages about the new battery so far so it's working good and it's a perfect fit for my PC. I have an HP Pavilion Power Laptop 15-cb0xx.

The battery installation was very easy to install. Remember to remove the CDROM player from the laptop first; there is one screw that holds it on the bottom case. It will slide out. Once the CDROM player is removed there are two more screws near the rim of the CDROM compartment at the front. Also, remove the rubber straps. Under the rubber straps or feet are more screws to remove. Use a spudger or guitar pick or credit card to release the top cover from the bottom cover. It is too early to comment on the Battery Life or Longevity of the new battery. Upon initial inspection of the new battery, the battery was flat and well made. The old battery had swollen up like an inflatable mattress, which cracked my Palmrest on the laptop. The old battery was not hot. It still charged up to 100%. So, you cannot determine if the battery is good or bad based on the heat it may generate or its charging capacity. The old battery was 3 years old. Also, the operating system gave me a warning message on the display during the boot that the old battery capacity was low. So, if you see that warning message during boot, it is time to replace it. Otherwise, the old battery could damage your Palmrest. Personally, I would change the battery every 2.5 to 3 years. I prefer the design of the old laptops better than the new laptops. The battery on the old laptop was very easy to change compared to the new laptops.

TL;DR I am giving this 5 stars only because the quality of the competition is so bad. It gives 61% of the run time compared to a new Dell battery. I bought three of these for three used Dell E7470 in the family that came with tired batteries. All three were OK. I chose this battery because it had a good quantity of positive reviews and also because the price was a little higher than the rest, on the theory that you might get less than you pay for, but you seldom get more. It was sold by Uorolbmy Inc. and shipped by Amazon. There is no obvious date code, so no way to tell how long they have been on the shelf. That is important for lithium batteries. When the E7470 was new, Laptop Magazine did a review and reported a 9 hour 16 minute battery life with continuous web surfing over WiFi with a 55Wh Dell original battery. I replicated that test with this battery, also 55Wh, and got 5 hours 38 minutes from 100% charge down to about 7%. Less than 8 minutes after it went below 15% charge it collapsed and the computer shut down. That is 61% of the runtime compared to a new Dell battery. I have heard that with some lithium batteries it takes a few charge/discharge cycles to gain full capacity. I don’t know if that will happen with this battery or not, but the one reference that I found said the gain is tiny – about 1%. About the worn-out batteries that came with my used laptop: the BIOS still said that the battery health was “Excellent”. One of the three used batteries had a 2016 date code, so 7 years old. Running on battery, the percent available and the Remaining Time would go down smoothly, then all of a sudden the low battery warning would come on and show 7% battery remaining (7% is where I have set my Critical battery level in the Windows Power Plan). This would happen even though just a couple of minutes ago it was showing 40%-50% charge. There was no clear indication that the battery was going to collapse from either the percent charge or the Remaining Time. The three worn-out batteries would run for between a half-hour to three and a half hours before collapsing. A good battery should not suddenly collapse. A plot of Charge % over time should be a straight line down to less than 5% charge. These new batteries collapsed just under 15% charge, which means they have lost some life in storage. With time and use, the collapse point will move up the capacity curve and useful running time will be reduced. When you install the new battery, first remove the blue film from the backside. The included screwdrivers are nice. The handle design lets me twirl the screws with my fingers using the round part near the shank. They are nice enough that I will put one in each of the places that I am likely to use it.

Easy swap out. Loosen bottom screws to remove bottom cover. Unplug old battery. Plug in new battery. Replace and secure cover. Turn on system system and verity new battery is working.
