It does what it should. The original remote finally went mute and wouldn't do volume anymore. This one does. And everything else too. No programming necessary, you put the batteries in and it works on my older Samsung. Mine is pre 2022 so the special function buttons don't work but who cares? The price is right and you get your tv cooking. My only gripe is the colour. Why isn't it orange or hot pink? ... show more

Great replacement remote for Samsung TV

Great replacement remote for Samsung TV. I have an older Samsung (circa 2015) and the buttons (predominantly the power button) seemed to be failing by not sending signal on the OEM remote. I seemed to be spending more time trying to get the remote to send a good signal to the TV than I did watching it. Out of the box (have some AAA batteries handy) this remote worked immediately and perfectly. No pairing required. The buttons have very good clicky feedback as well. So, you know you've pressed it. One caveat is that while this remote has buttons to load specific apps directly, these may not (likely will not) work on older Samsung TVs. The documentation explains some of this (that the Disney+ button may not work on older TVs), but none of them worked on my 2015 TV ... which is fine because the OEM remote didn't have those buttons anyway. This is a TV that is tucked away in a loft/music room, and not the primary TV for viewing. Great value for money in this one! ... show more

Worth the buy

Was a perfect replacement when we couldn't find out original. (It was under the couch and we couldn't get it). The size is perfect because it fits amazingly in your hand without being to bulky. It is very easy to use and straight forward. the buttons are in perfect position and nice to have buttons that go right to certain streaming stations that we use often. It connected right to the tv when I added batteries and was perfectly compatible. The overall function is amazing. The ONLY thing I see that might bother some people is you have to really push down on the buttons. For me, I have two young kids so my patience with something like this is fine, it doesn't bother me but I can see how it might bother some people. ... show more

Better than advertised…

This is the one. Have had several other Samsung compatible remotes. They all have had functionality issues. Multiple pressing of buttons to get them to work. I have an older QN65 TV. I also purchased the OEM Samsung remote on Amazon. Build quality is equal. Neither is great. Plastic that would not sustain a 6-8 ft drop. The issue I had with the OEM version is that 3 functions did not operate while on YouTube TV. Pausing a program I was watching or scrolling up and down channel options, you had to repeatedly click to move the cursor. This “sliding” function does work with this remote. Holding the “middle “ button to return to the last watched channel does not work while using either remote. For cost difference, you can replace your remote a few times and still save $$. No pairing was required with either option. Hope this helps. ... show more

A remote that was included with the TV was always problematic. Even straight out of the box brand new failed to function properly. This one corrected all of the problems that the original Samsung remote was infected with. Hopefully it lasts a few years before it dies as well.
