my Westinghouse Roku TV started acting up, I picked this up, came with No instructions, I'm like Crap, I put batteries in it and BOOM works perfect ! No hard linking to device or anything Just works ! AND it lights up so easy to see buttons when lights are off if needed.

This remote is doing all right for the first week. What I can share about this remote after using it for one week, is that it’s compatible for my seven year old TCL TV. I would say backlit buttons are its best features. The remote is otherwise a bit laggy. I would say a second or two delay In Response but the power button doesn’t delay. You get what you pay for In my opinion Amazon’s window for reviewing products doesn’t allow for A thorough review of a product. I am reviewing this product because it’s within my window and Amazon doesn’t allow you to review after months of use. I experience this with the Roku smart remote. I bought this remote as a temporary fix to the Roku smart remote That after over a year of use isn’t holding a charge and it seems one of the charging prongs is missing. This remote doesn’t come with batteries so I recommend two AAA batteries ready while waiting for delivery.

My original mote died or partially dies some buttons would not work, I also had a devil of a time seeing remote when lights were off as is often the case watch the TV in bed with the wife. These work well, and are nicely backlit to see in the dark. I got two for each of us so we have a back up.

Love this remote! It works right out of the package, exactly as described for our onn roku tv. Of course, since hubby found the old one as soon as it came, I have this on my bedside table so I don't have to keep rummaging through the covers to find it!

Dude. YES. The biggest gripe I had with Roku’s remote was the whole “can’t see anything in the dark” problem. Sure, you can memorize where the buttons are—if you're a human GPS—but sometimes, you forget and the next thing you know, you’re accidentally deep into a Hulu binge you didn’t even mean to start. Enter the Replacement Backlit TV Remote Control for Roku TV. This thing is a game-changer. The light-up buttons are like little beacons guiding you through the nighttime channel-surfing wilderness. No more fumbling around, trying to guess if you’re hitting "volume up" or "Netflix." Now, you can navigate like a pro—even at 2 AM in your darkest, pajama-clad state. PRO'S: - No setup is required other than (2) AAA batteries (not included). Roku remote works out of the box! - Backlight offers a highly visible bright quality lighting that is easily seen in the dark on the front panel. The colors are very pleasing. (Press any button key to turn it on) - The remote controller offers a one-touch select option for the more popular movie channels. - The remote controller is lightweight and fits nicely in my hand. CON'S: - The remote controller backlight does not turn on when the remote controller is moved. A button key needs to be pressed to turn on the backlight. It's easy to lose track of the remote controller in the bed covers at night when it's dark. I need to turn on a lamp to find it as I sift through my bed covers tirelessly. - The volume (up/down) button key is located on the side of the remote. Picking up the remote controller triggers unintended volume adjustment. - The volume side button on the remote controller does not light up in the dark. OVERALL: - The backlight feature on the Roku remote controller is finally available for those of us who have a Roku bedroom TV. And it's a wonderful and standard feature. - These days, I use ear buds for night TV viewing not to disturb others, therefore the remote controller (unintended) volume operation is no impact to me when I pick it up. - I'm happy I purchased the remote for the backlighting. It's certainly a "must have" for nighttime TV!
