    • Another great product from Reolink
I needed to replace one of my outdoor Reolink camera that was starting to have video issues. I decided to stay with Reolink and get this upgraded version. The battery is no longer removable which means the case is better sealed against the weather. The camera is higher resolution, and the software is improved. It not only sends you an alarm message it identifies if it's a person which means you might actually want to check that alert out. Since I have this near my front door the built in LED lights come in handy to see to unlock the door at night if I didn't leave my porch light on. It takes very clear pictures day and night. They also improved the base mount and made it easier to install. The solar panel does a good job of keeping the battery charged. When my other cameras go bad, which anything electronic will eventually, I will get more of these. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. Arlo was my camera but now they charge and say you can use new cameras in old base stations. Not true. These guys when I had a connection issue replaced my camera after determining was not my system . Patience for me and them but they stepped up. Camera working fine except solar not charging. I've been using Nest and DeZees cameras for years, but I'm disappointed at the nighttime resolution for viewing people and vehicle license plates on my street. We've had a few car break-ins, so I've been looking for a 4k camera to give me a clearer picture of my street at night. I've tried this camera for two weeks, and although it is 4k, the wake time after motion detection is very poor. Even with the camera set to full sensitivity, it only starts recording long after the initial action the triggered it. When a vehicle passes my home, the clip will start when the car is too far away to identify. The same happens when people walk their dogs by my house, the clip will record right as their passing in front of the camera. Very disappointing and unusable. In conclusion, this camera made me realize that motion detection, and initial recording speed are more important than resolution. Who cares if the camera is 4k when you never get the right clip. I would return the product but I threw away the packaging. PS, the software will notify you when it detects motion, but you have to hunt for the clip in their poorly designed interface.     • Good camera with limited connectivity options
I have about a dozen Reolink cameras, so I am quite familiar with their features. My other cameras are powered either by a DC power supply or by POE (power-over-Ethernet). This camera is powered by an internal battery, which can be charged either by the small solar panel it comes with, or by any 5 volt USB charger. The solar panel seems to keep it charged reliably. It feels very sturdy and well-built. The image quality is pretty good, but not as clear as my other Reolink cameras. The motion-detection and recording features work well. The downside to this camera is its limited connectivity options and other features. This camera does not support common protocols such as ONVIF and RTSP streaming. You cannot access it via a web browser, either to view video or to change settings. The only way you can access it at all is through the Reolink app. It also cannot be used with a NVR. Update: To my surprise - unlike all my other Reolink cams - this camera requires Internet access to function. It’s very important to me that I can access my cameras over the local network whether or not the Internet connection is working. This is important both for reliability/security during an Internet outage, and also for privacy reasons. This is a big downside to this camera! I hope Reolink will address this serious limitation. ... show more

I had the older Argus 3 version that didn't have the newer 5Ghz WiFi band and let me tell you it makes a huge difference. This one connects nearly instantly whereas the old one took 10-15 seconds to load. The newer solar panel has been doing great keeping the camera running even with days of rain and no sun. I recommend this for anyone that can't run POE cable for a better camera setup. This thing is super easy to setup in literal minutes. I didn’t get this for normal, security reasons. Rather to mount to a tree in our backyard to record any wildlife. And I wanted a system that I wouldn’t be saddled with a monthly subscription fee for. So far, it’s worked fine. I have the camera and solar panel mounted and it’s recorded animals very clearly. If I want, I can download the clip to my photo library - which I have done. ... show more
