They kept me warm in Iceland's December weather along with a base layer but water soaks right in the fabric. Zippered pockets are nice to keep items secure but one of the zipper tags caught on something and ripped right off without me noticing. They are very comfortable for my 215 lb 6 ft frame. 36/32 fit perfect which is true to size for what I normally wear. My son wanted these for skiing. They are warm and have lots of pockets. He likes that they have belt loops and are comfortable. The only thing that would make them 5 star is if they unzipped at the ankles to fit over ski boots better.

These are interesting pants, the triple stitch breathable knee is not as warm as I expected for better or worse. If you sit, the heel does not rise above your ankle, that's definite plus (when do we get this in suits?). The zips are notably fun to use & seem high quality as the ankle ones flip & stick to avoid sticking in you where the pockets include a nice lanyard. The pants is warm enough to wear in temps around 32F. It has many pockets which is great to hold phones, wallet, etc. So far it holds up for several ski/hiking trips and I feel comfortable wearing it. The reason I take one star off is because the leg opening is not wide enough. I can't put my ski boots within the pants and I have to tuck the leg opening in the boots which is not comfortable. I searched through the lined waterproof/wind proof zippered pockets winter pants, saw these were in my size and had good reviews. Next day took them out of the package just in time for the coldest days of the year yet, and at this point I would call them perfect. Love the feel, fit, comfort warmth and coziness.
