I only have one complaint about this panel, the 12v accessory plug was too long to fit in my '92 Chevy C2500's ashtray outlet. Because of how excellent the panel works I still think it deserves a 5 star score. I'll just order a shallower replacement plug from Amazon and wire it to the extension. I'll post a link after I get one. The cold nights were draining my 12v truck battery so I needed something to keep it charged till I can afford to replace it. I leave this on the winshield connected directly to the battery when she's parked. I haven't had a weak start since I started using the panel. We had a hard frost on a night that I forgot to plug it in and the battery died trying to start in the morning. It takes a big battery with good juice to turn that 454 over cold. 10 minutes connected, in partial shade, the battery cranked her over, no problem. I've left this panel on the outside of the winshield through rain storms, snow storms, and freezes and they don't seem to hurt it. It will get a little damp in the back but that hasn't effected it's performance. The 10 watt is a solid panel that does it's job well, even on an old battery. ... show more

The description says this item is "weatherproof for outdoor durability," and the images even show the unit with water on it. However, the warning in the instructions says "keep the solar charger away from water." The unit is clearly designed to be adhered to the inside of a windshield. The housing is made of canvas which is hard to makeout in the images. It does not appear to be made for outdoor use at all. If you are looking for something which can be mounted outside, this is not the product. It does come in nice packaging and is an attractive looking unit. It also has a good selection of wiring options, and it would probably work well if stuck to the inside of a window. It simply should not be marketed for outdoor use. ... show more

I tested this according to some info i found online, 22.7 volts .25 amps 5.675 watts. This test was done with the panel in full sun. I did my best to angle the panel to get the full sun but maybe I was off a bit. I used a Craftsman 82141 voltmeter to test. If this is accurate then I have no doubt I'll be able to put this on the dash for a bit of trickle charge when vehicle is not in use. As for now, I connect it to the dc outlet and attach to the outside of the car. If there is anything this panel deserves 10 stars for, it's definitely the included suction cups. Works well; keeps auto batt level up if I use accessories & don't drive car much. I found the cooler I can keep it the more current/amperage it will produce. I keep a layer of cardboard between it and glass/body, or raise it up off surface for air circulation to try to keep it cool. Under no circumstances should it be mounted INSIDE glass as it will exceed the max op temp. easily. Doing so will degrade output, killing the charger over time! Also may want to get ext. cable as the length is not real long; routing may be compromised. ... show more

This is my second Renology solar battery trickle charger. I am still using the first one that is 4 years old. I just found the occasional need for a second one. I would not recommend leaving hooked up all the time. And don't expect battery to be charged in just a couple of hours. I like the choose of connectors provided. The ring terminals in the on adapter is the right size for atv/utv/motorcycle style batteries. If this charger is used like they are intended to be used you should be pleased. ... show more

I installed this on my back window of Volvo XC70 that can sit for weeks sometimes, and when I do drive it is usually only 3 or 4 miles trips which are not enough to make up the energy used to start the car. The panel was putting out .56 amps through the solar cool glass on a hazy day. Perfect for keeping my battery at full charge. Suction cups do fall off pretty often. Its taking about 3 weeks to charge a UPS battery, but I believe that is about right. It's not a fast charger, 10W is pretty small so keep that in mind. I'm still happy with it. It should be great for some outdoor Arduino or raspberry pi projects someday.

My unit works just fine. I believe people indicating no voltage ARE TESTING THE UNIT WRONG. They appear to be hooking a voltmeter directly to it looking voltage. That is incorrect. This is not just a solar panel that you can measure the open panel voltage. It is a Panel plus a MPPT controller. You need to hook it to a battery as a load for it to turn on and produce voltage/current. I currently just lay mine on my car dash. I purchased one of these ASIN B096XBLXLY, https://www.amazon.com/dp/B096XBLXLY?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2_dt_b_product_details to be able to turn it on/off without having to unplug it.
