  • Built Tough
Size: MPPT 20A Controller Style: Cables+Mounts
I bought two of these 100w panels to mount on the ground. I was making a custom mount to place them on and accidently drilled to far into the aluminum frame, drilled into the edge of the glass, the panel cracked and now it looks like a spider web. My fault totally. With nothing to lose I decided to go ahead and plug it in anyway. It works fine and has the same high output as the undamaged one. I've been leaving it out overnight where is gets covered in heavy dew and condensation and so far, so good. I'll likely bring it in when rain is forecast as I don't want to press my luck too far. Very impressed with this product. ... show more

  • Lots of juice and high quality at a good price
Size: MPPT 20A Controller Style: Cables+Mounts
Great quality and really cranks out the energy. I'm definitely happy I went with the MPPT controller instead of a PWM. I so wish I sprung for the 40A instead of the 20A. The 20A can only take 2 100W panels on a 12V system which is all I thought I needed but it would be nice to have some ability to upgrade without buying a whole new controller. All materials seem to be very high quality. Installation instructions are thorough and easy to understand. I sent a question to their customer service department and received a prompt response. The only thing that wasn't totally clear to me and nearly caused a pretty serious problem is that the MC4 connectors are a little counter-intuitive in terms of their gender identity. The one referred to as female actually goes into the one referred to as male. So pay close attention to which is labeled positive vs negative (and thankfully they are labeled) and don't assume male = part sticking out. ... show more

  • It works, but isn't the best
Size: MPPT 20A Controller Style: Cables+Mounts
It works for me charging a LiFePO4 battery and running some USB chargers. The panels have handled the weather and are sturdy enough. It does feel like some corners were cut. A crimped connector fell off after a few reconnects. I bought a crimper and connectors to make longer cables and the difference was apparent. Also the measured amps way overestimates how much powered is coming in compared to a real multimeter. I don't know if that's intentional to make it look like you're getting more power than you are, or a miscalibration internally, but I might see if I can modify that someday. ... show more

  • Great Setup - It gets the Job Done
Size: MPPT 20A Controller Style: Cables+Mounts
I have a 25' Travel Trailer with an electric fridge so the one or two times a year I boondock I needed something to maintain the battery bank charge. My battery bank is 2 Interstate 80 AH each flooded batteries, nothing fancy. My first time (only time) using this setup was a weekend with perfect sun all day long, in September, in the the North East. With the charge controller and the phone app I was able to see I drained 11 AH from the batteries overnight. These two panels had the battery back up to 100% in a matter of an hour. It maintained them all day long at 100% even with the fridge, lighting and the fan for the heating system. I did opt for the blue tooth adapter which you can see in the picture. With this and the DC home app you get a wealth of useful and useless information. I did do the install myself in a couple of hours. ... show more

  • Well packaged....
Size: MPPT 20A Controller Style: Cables+Mounts
I cannot review how well it works yet but just wanted to say it arrived today very well packaged. The parts appear to be of good quality. The panels are not as heavy as I was lead to believe they'd be, I can handle them easily. The user's manual talks all about the control box but tells you nothing at all about hooking up the panels so I have some googling to do first (it's my understanding there's a couple different ways and I want to pick the best way of course). Will update when it's working, too dark, wet and cold outside for now to mess with it :( ... show more

  • Pretty fun little solar setup
Size: MPPT 20A Controller Style: Cables+Mounts
I have a large solar array on the house but wanted to put a couple smaller systems around the property for some of the non-critical things that aren't worth trenching power out to. This setup is running our greenhouse with a 100ah nojoke brand battery. Mostly just fans, lights, irrigation pump, etc. Everything was plug and play(plus screw terminals). The solar panels and mppt charger are consistent and output slightly over the rated output when the sun is just right. You can maybe DIY a setup for a little cheaper than the full price of this but you can't beat the deal when its "on sale". The battery SOC level is mostly BS as its measuring on the same leads its sending power to. It's more accurate when the sun is down. ... show more

  • RV Upgrade
Size: MPPT 20A Controller Style: Cables+Mounts
Very nice kit, my first step into solar ... mounted these panels to the roof of my travel trailer. Still only the first few weeks since installation, but the controller seems to be working perfectly, plenty of information in the step-thru menu, and my battery bank has been fully charged at every check. We will use off-grid and really drain batteries on one of our planned national park trips later this year, but for now, it is tending the batteries full-time at the storage facility. Only complaint was that we were 10' short of wire (both leads) for a fairly short trailer (22'); we mounted panels near the roof pass-thru near the rear & ran to the front. All other hardware & kit elements worked perfectly, solid quality. Z-brackets and the self-tapping screws in the kit really hold the panels down firmly on the roof w/ Dicor applied over screw heads. UPDATE Mid-2018: Finishing up 2nd year of this solar kit on our RV, has flawlessly kept batteries charged and maintained. We burn down 10-30% during an evening, but it always tops up over the next day. Love the trouble-free management of battery power. ... show more
