  • Good for Vanlife.
Size: 200W Single Panel
These panels are awesome. They out put as advertised and are very easy to work with. they can deal with up to 85 MPH highway speed for serval hundred miles. they tanked a light hail storm with no issues. These are 100% good to go. they are nice and rigid and will fit in a roof rack using 80/20 aluminum extrusions. If you need wattage on your van build this is what you want to go with. I run a 12v fridge, work labtop, gaming labtop, 4kw inverter, lights, fan, a ton of stuff. I can run a 5000 BTU AC unit off nothing but the noon sun on a clear summer day. These will keep the lights on. ... show more

  • Better than expected
Size: 100W 2-Pack Panels
As soon as I received the panel's I unboxed everything and set them in the sun to check if they worked. First things I noticed is they are built really well, and they sent me 24 volt panels and I ordered 12 volt so a big plus for me, 96 volts of power from an expected 48 so again a big plus in my favor (After ordering a total of 22 of these they are all producing more than 100W each unfocused and YES they are a good deal). Next I pointed them at the sun and was getting more than rated voltage when in a direct angle to the sun, and I got a reading of 24.5 volts DC on all but 1 which was 22.8 volts DC with them pointing unfocused; in an attempt to imitate the angle they would be in a stationary system on the roof. Of course my opinion may change if they don't work long term but right now I couldn't be happier with the purchase. Edit: It's been a few months now using these panels fully off grid. And I couldn't be happier. Yes I could have spent a lot more money and had fewer panels by buying 300+ watt panels but space wasn't a worry for us money is. We would have spent quite a bit more per watt buying the higher wattage panels. The important thing is each and every one of my Renogy solar panels produces more than the rated wattage under full sun. It isn't a lot but we get over 3200 watts total under full sun with 30 panels now. Which means there is over 200 watts higher than rated wattage total. Thats 2 panels worth. I call them our ghost panels. My opinion of these panels and the company couldn't get better. The PowMr 5000W CC/Inverter we are using can take 450V to the MPPT with a max of 500V 16 amps. Two arrays of 15 panels each at 13 amps is where we are now, thats about 250 V 6.5 amps per array. We are going to add more panels to reach the 450V 16A input potential. Right now we only use battery power under full sun if we use the dryer or microwave oven, everything else is powered between say 8:00 AM to 6:00PM by our panel array which are not focused and is a bit small yet. That includes recharging our battery bank, watching TV, coffee on, lighting and the fridge. If the dryer and AC are on at the same time we may see a small draw on the batteries around 1 or 2 amps when the dryers heating element is powered, which is intermittent. Right now we are fairly balanced. The panels run everything in the house pretty much during daytime including recharging batteries, and the batteries at night; which means the panels are producing all the electricity we use. Adding a few more panels will end using any battery power during a sunny day and adding panels to reach 450V max will probably accomplish that on a cloudy day. And thats the last thing I want to mention. Even though power production does depend on how much light is blocked by clouds or shadows, they do produce power on overcast days. A thin layer of clouds won't appear to make much difference and even on a day with a few rain clouds around we will have power coming from the panels. So my rating is 100% 5 Stars and I'd add another 5 if I could. The panel that produced 22 volts was made wrong. One of the cells isn't connected and what looks like the solder strip is laying across the neighboring cell face. Still can't complain I purchased 12V panels. ... show more

  • Everything I was looking for, A real solar panel.
Size: 175W Single Panel
I originally tried to save money and buy a different brands and it turned into a nightmare. Inconsistent output and panel failures kept me quite busy with returns and installing new panels just to have them die within or just after the return period. After returning the other panels and buying 8 of these, I have to say I am totally amazed by the quality all around. The box, how the panels were packed, how easy it was to remove the panels from the box, technical specifications with temperature coefficients on the panels itself. Each panel has an individual serial number for the warranty. This is something you won't find on a lot of 'cheaper' panels. By paying the premium which in hindsight was well worth it, I received a 10 year warranty on the panel itself which is guaranteed to not have hot spots as it ages. The panel also comes with a guaranteed power output graph over the years. I have the specifications to know if the panel is failing or working as it should. Everything I've seen so far tells me they stand behind their products. From Testing to testing after installing the ground mount solar rack, all panels are consistent, arrived in pristine condition and most of all, performs as the manufacture says they would. The frame is made of a thicker material and the quality of everything is top notch compared to the other panels I've purchased and reviewed. Since installing these panels, I discovered my solar irradiance monitor is showing low and needs recalibration. There are many panels that are less and seem very attractive. After everything I've been through, I will buy Renogy from now on. I highly recommend this brand and panel for anyone who is doing a DIY solar project. this outperforms even the best of the 'cheaper' panels purchased before now. ... show more

  • Good panel, bad connectors
Size: 175W Single Panel
Knocked off a star for the connectors. The panel worked great for around 3 months of use mounted on top of a vehicle. Then the wire for one connector came entirely out of the metal crimp inside, and the other was so loose that even after the other connector was fixed, the solar panel would work only very intermittently so that connector had to be fixed too. One connector was easy to fix and unscrewed + came apart into manageable pieces, but the other was tougher to fix as it did not come apart nicely. I would still buy it again, but I would baby the connectors and try to plug/unplug things from them very frequently. Other than the connectors, I haven't really had any issues with the panel. ... show more
