In spite of its cost and some customer reviews stating that it doesn’t work for them, I bought this because I was tired of having to use the Sonos app to control the volume on my TV. For reference, I use a Sonos Beam (Gen 2), a Sub-Mini, and two older Play:1s (connected as a stereo pair) for surround sound in my living room. Because the Sub-Mini and the two Play:1s are linked (through the app) to the Beam, this remote controls all of these components simultaneously. Just follow the simple steps on the Sonos app to pair this remote to the Beam, and it works like a charm. For me, that’s as follows: • Open the Sonos app • Tap “System” • Tap “Living Room” (That’s where my Beam is.) • Scroll down and tap “Remote Control Setup” • Follow the steps • Voila. The remote is extremely basic. It only has three buttons. Mute (x), Sound Up (+), and Sound Down (-). Obviously, no explanation is needed. My Sonos Beam sits on top of my fireplace mantle, so I have to hold my arm up and point it at the Beam so the remote’s IR transmitter can interact with the Beam’s IR receiver, but that’s not a big deal. If yours isn’t sitting up higher than you, you probably won’t need to do that. All in all, I don’t regret the purchase. I still think it’s priced too high, but since Sonos doesn’t offer a remote control I’m glad to have this one. Good luck!

Absolutely fantastic. I have been struggling with controlling the volume on an older Sonos Playbase sound station (Sonos no longer make them). I have an LG smart tv with a magic remote. The remote would show the volume up and down bars but would not change actually change the sound base volume. This meant I had to constantly get up and down to adjust the sound. Been looking for a solution for over a year and came up with nothing. These old Sonos work off IR (infer red) which makes it impossible to synch up. Plus, Sonos updated their app and it no longer find the playbase. Thank god for this cheap looking Genie remote lol! No instructions, nothing to synch up on the screen. Will work right out of the box - yeah right. Guess what. It worked right out of the box!!! What What!!!!! In conclusion, on of the best purchases I have ever made on Amazon.

The media could not be loaded. After purchasing a Sonos Ray soundbar, I was disappointed to discover that it wasn't compatible with my TV or Google Chrome remotes. I downloaded the app and used it for the first few months, but found it frustrating to rely on my phone to adjust the volume. Even worse, I often had to get up and adjust the volume manually if I wasn't near the phone. I read the very few reviews for this remote and reluctantly ordered it. I was not convinced, so I ordered a used one at a discounted price (in case it didn't work). Surprisingly, the control looked good and worked right out of the bag. It is a basic remote, and the clicks are a little loud, but I also found that it is best to keep the button pressed to regulate the volume instead of clicking multiple times. Overall, the control works well. It is not very intuitive, but it does the job. It was pricy for what it does (volume up, volume down, mute), but it is more practical for me to use the remote vs. using my phone or walking to the soundbar over and over again. I don't regret the purchase, but if it continues to work well, I won't hesitate to replace it with a brand new unit. For now, if you need to control a Sonos Ray volume and don't need anything else, this one is worth the effort.

The media could not be loaded. I bought this item to work with my Sonos Ray soundbar, after realizing that my smartTV remote won't operate the volume on it because it connects to your TV via optical cable, and is limited to using IR remotes for controlling the volume and play features. So, this remote does the job for controlling the volume on my Ray soundbar, but holy hell, the buttons are so loud when you press them. The controller does volume up, down, and pauses play, but for the limited function of this remote, it should really be much cheaper. I took of stars for how loud the buttons are and how expensive it is for such a basic remote.
