I bought this little RC car for my 4‑year‑old, and it’s been a fun to watch him play with it. He picked it up quickly and the controls are simple once you show them how to press forward/backward with the left/right buttons at the same time. The range is pretty good (about 40–45 feet), which is plenty for indoor play or running it down the hallway. The car itself feels sturdy. The soft plastic body and rubber tires have handled the crashes into the walls and other objects in the way. It drives well on our wood floor but does get caught up on the carpet at times because it sits very low to the ground. The lights make it extra exciting at night. I also like that it has two speed modes. My son sticks to the slower mode, but my older kids switch it to high speed and try drifting it around corners. It’s definitely beginner‑friendly but still fun for older siblings. Only thing to note: it takes 5 AA batteries total (3 for the car, 2 for the remote), so make sure you have those on hand. Overall, it’s a great little gift for young kids who love cars and want something easy to control.

Overall, I really like the look of this remote control car, as the car looks like a classic Porsche model with a huge dramatic rear spoiler and plenty of racing decals all over it. However, most remote control vehicles come with a rechargeable battery for the vehicle itself since that battery tends to get drained down quickly from running the motor(s). Instead, this car has a battery compartment that takes three AA batteries, allowing it to run nominally at 4.5V. While rechargeable AA batteries (which generally operate at a slightly lower voltage) used to be somewhat popular, I don’t think most people use them anymore, so in general a user would have to consume three more AA alkaline batteries each time their car runs out of batteries. There might be some specific reasons why specific customers might prefer an RC vehicle that takes AA batteries (such as specific shipping regulations), but I think most customers like myself would prefer RC vehicles that come with a dedicated rechargeable battery (or multiple of them even).

This remote-control car looked and felt cheap. My son broke it on day 1 which sucks because we had to tear our house a part to find batteries to operate it to begin with when the box claimed it came with rechargeable batteries. There were none in the box. My 3-year-old struggled to drive it properly, it drove a bit too fast for the handling. He was just starting to get the hang of it but every time it crashed into something the front end would dent. It was made out of plastic as thin as a disposable water bottle.

I picked this up as an inexpensive RC car, and overall it's a decent toy for the price. It's clearly aimed at younger children and beginners rather than hobby-grade RC enthusiasts, but it performs well within that role. The controls are simple enough for younger kids to learn, and the included low-speed mode helps make the learning curve less frustrating. Once they're comfortable, the higher-speed mode adds a little more excitement. The car feels reasonably durable, with soft plastic construction that seems capable of handling the bumps and crashes that inevitably come with kids learning to drive RC vehicles. It also works well on typical indoor surfaces such as hardwood, tile, and low-pile carpet. The 2.4GHz control system is a nice feature because it allows multiple cars to be used without interference, making it suitable for playdates and races with friends. I also like the working lights, which add a bit of fun and make the car more appealing to younger children.
