  • Heartbreaking yet Hopeful, A Powerful Story of Second Chances
Format: Paperback
Colleen Hoover has done it again with Reminders of Him. This book is raw, emotional, and absolutely unforgettable. The story follows Kenna, a mother desperate to reunite with her daughter after serving time in prison. What I loved most was how real the characters felt—flawed, hurting, and struggling to heal. Kenna’s guilt and determination, paired with Ledger’s protectiveness, created so much tension and heartbreak that I couldn’t put it down. This isn’t a light romance, it’s heavy at times, but the themes of forgiveness, redemption, and the unbreakable bond between mother and child make it powerful and moving. Colleen Hoover reminds us that people can grow, change, and earn a second chance. If you’re looking for a story that will make you cry, root for the characters, and leave you thinking long after you’ve finished, this is it. ... show more

  • so it wasn’t bad per say….
Format: Kindle
3.8 ⭐️⭐️⭐️ I actually really enjoyed it up until the end. It was emotional, and cute and then we got to the end and it just felt rushed. No way would they have just moved on that fast and to the point of moving on that they did. They read one letter and then bam they couldn’t stop hugging her. Like be for real. I would’ve preferred they took a couple of weeks/months slowly reading ALL the letters and slowly integrating her into their and Diems life. That would’ve been more realistic. And I also would’ve preferred the reason for her not calling or getting help had been because she was incapacitated due to the attempts she speaks about and not because she had a panic attack and maybe fell and hit her head but doesn’t know. Like that to me would still be hard for me to get over as the parents of Scotty, he suffered for six hours alone and then when you found out you still wouldn’t tell us why you didn’t help and now 5 years later it’s because you went home and maybe hit your head and maybe fainted but you don’t know?!? I just think it would’ve been easier to digest as the parents if it had been she took some 💊 after being overcome with grief, passed out but ultimately was found. All in all I did enjoy it, it was a super quick read (3hrs), I even got a little emotional for a second. But to wrap up the whole conflict in the last 2% of the book was just not fleshed out enough for me. And definitely not with how closely they were interacting with her after hating her and blaming her for their miracle child’s death for 5 yrs. So it was the outcome I wanted but the path to it just didn’t make sense. ... show more

  • What a great read
Format: Kindle
I couldn't understand the beginning. When I got past the first few chapters, then I understood more about the people. I couldn't put the book down. I read a few chapters every day. Colleen Hoover did it again. Her story was very emotional. I had a love/hate with the parents for a while. But I cried when it was all out in the open. It was absolutely heart-wrenching as I read more. But in the end, it was worth it all. What a great read. ... show more

  • this made me cry
Format: Kindle
I have read many books by Colleen Hoover and others. This is the first book I have read that made me cry. I have never experienced anything that Kenna, Scotty's family, ledger or any character go through. But, it did provoke thoughts about forgiveness, redemption, and second chances even when we hurt. Every year drunk drivers kill people. They take a loved one away and anger and hurt are thrown at the driver. But, what if that was the first time a driver made that mistake? Accidents destroys families, but forgiveness can heal. It really is a thought provoking book. I give kudos to Ms. Hoover on writing this one. This was a tear jerker. ... show more

  • Another emotional journey, I didn't want to end
Format: Kindle
Wow—she's done it again! Another unforgettable novel from Colleen Hoover that made me feel every emotion possible. Her writing is so immersive and raw that I felt like I was right there with the characters, experiencing their highs and lows right alongside them. I still can’t believe it took me this long to discover her books, but I’m so incredibly thankful I finally did. Each story leaves a mark, and this one was no exception. Heartfelt, powerful, and beautifully written. ... show more
