I read other reviews about the weak joint between the vertical strut sections and decided to take a chance anyway. I didn't regret my decision. If installed correctly the joint works. Besides the plastic joint filler there is a metal reinforcing "latch" that holds the sections together. It comes with one per corner strut, but I would feel more secure if there were two. The package comes with cardboard to protector the shelves during shipping. One of them fits perfectly as a shelf liner. If you want to slide things easily on or off or use it like a pantry with smaller items you would need a hard shelf liner. It would be nice if at least this one piece of cardboard where made of hardboard like Masonite that then could be used as a permanent shelf surface. How about one for each shelf, but the shipping weight would be increased. You can always cut your own if you have the time, tools and skills. ... show more

My shelves arrived nicely packed with all parts present. They were super easy to assemble and didn't require any screws or bolts. They are pretty sturdy for my use but I would personally be leery of puting 2200lbs on these shelves. There are no cross beams on the shelves and the wire grills that go on the shelves aren't all that thick. If you place something heavy in the middle of it I feel like it may bend and fall. Can't verify that but I just wouldn't test it based on how it feels. But all that said I am very pleased with these shelves. ... show more

Ived order like 6 of these racks so far. They come with little kits to install like a tiny mallet. But overall I reorganized my entire basement and the are solid. Parts seemed a little flimsy at first but after assembly they are solid. I was standing on one while assembling another, for ref I'm 6'3 and 350lb nothing bent so it will hold your massive piles of stuff you're hoarding in your basement or garage. ... show more

I bought two and almost didn’t get them because of a review where a lady rocked the shelving from side to side like they would be loose. I realized she did not put BOTH rivets into BOTH slots. The bottom rivet is easily missed if you’re not paying attention! I am a 5’2” woman and I put both together in less than an hour. They are extremely sturdy.
