Unlike other reviews I have read, I found these shelves to be strong, durable & well-made. Measurements are as advertised. Yes, the materials used are somewhat lightweight, but once assembled, the entire structure is rigid & strong. The wood shelves are much better than I expected based on other reviews. They are fully supported on all four sides, PLUS two support crossbars under each one, so no part of the shelf is more than 8" away from structural support. We loaded hundreds of pounds onto each unit, with zero concerns about shelf strength. The first one took just over an hour to assemble; the 2nd about 30 minutes once I got the hang of it. Instructions are rather sparce and some important info is missing, so you have to look carefully & figure it out. But it's a pretty simple structure, so there's no real issues there. I would repurchase if I need more shelving; it's a good value. ... show more

Easy for one person to assemble... I assembled two in about an hour and a half. Shelf height is easy to adjust whenever necessary. Frankly, I don't believe for a minute that these shelves would hold the advertised 3000 pounds, but they're plenty sturdy for the general basement storage and organization I bought them for. ... show more

The assembly was straightforward and adequately illustrated by the instructions. I am confident that it will be plenty sturdy for my applications. However, a couple of things are not up to snuff and should be rectified, or taken into consideration by potential buyers: The plastic fasteners provided to secure the connection between the two vertical bars simply don't fit the holes provided. The expansion nut has no space to expand and the fastener cannot be inserted. I threw them out and tapped into my own supply of machine screws to secure that connection. Most seriously the boards for the shelves are 5 mm (about 3/16 in), while the ledge they sit on is 10 mm (about 3/8 in) thick. As a result, the is a lip of the metal edge of each shelf support jutting 5 mm above the board all around the perimeter of the shelf. I need to store flat items (mat board) on the shelves, with the boards occasionally extending beyond the edge. The lip of metal will damage the product and prevent it from being slid smoothly off the shelf. This is an unacceptable cheapening of the product - if they were only going to use 5 mm boards, they should have adjusted the ledge depth to also be no more than 5 mm. I will have to go out and buy another 5 mm layer of MDF, cut it to size, and sandwich it with the provided boards in order to make the shelves usable. I should not have to do that in order to use an otherwise good product. Disappointing. ... show more
